Monaghan County Council values and wishes to support the work of the Artist and extend the range of opportunities for artists to develop their practice. We recognise that we have a responsibility to provide financial and other assistance to artists, so that they can be supported in the making and presentation of their work, and in their professional development.<\/em><\/p>\n

The artist is not just the creator of art; they also encourage discourse and challenge us to think differently about the world we live in. Artists are crucial contributors to a healthy democracy and are central to development of the Arts in Monaghan. (Framework agreement with the Arts Council).<\/em><\/p>\n

GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. This year\u2019s scheme is open to any individual artist who can demonstrate their track record regardless of whether they have received funding from us in the past.<\/li>\n
  2. Monaghan County Council would like to invite\u00a0individual artists to apply under this scheme and to have their application considered for funding by an independent Assessment Panel.<\/li>\n
  3. The Artist Support Scheme<\/strong> is open to applicants who consider themselves Emerging Talent* <\/strong>as well those who have been recognised by their peers as Established Artists**<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Due to the\u00a0competitive nature of this scheme and the total funding available, this may limit our ability to support all submissions that have merit.<\/li>\n
  5. If you have received funding from Monaghan County Council under the\u00a0Value-Added Scheme<\/strong> in the current calendar year, your submission\u00a0will not be considered.<\/li>\n
  6. If your application to the scheme is successful, you cannot seek funding under the\u00a0Value-Added Scheme<\/strong> in the same calendar year.<\/li>\n
  7. The Artist Support Scheme<\/strong> enables Monaghan County Council to assist artists of all disciplines in their creative practice, professional development, performance\/exhibition of work and residencies such as:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      \n
    1. Artists\u2019 professional development, (e.g., further training, attendance at peer-to-peer workshops, travel grants within Ireland).<\/li>\n
    2. Artists\u2019 creation of art, (e.g., production costs, materials assistance, exploration and research assistance, residency assistance),<\/li>\n
    3. Artists, their art, and the public realm, (e.g., performance & recording development assistance, publication & exhibition assistance, projects carried out in collaboration with county organisations)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Funding\u00a0Criteria<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Limits<\/strong>\u00a0are set under\u00a0two categories<\/u>.<\/p>\n
