When disclosed the data will be processed in accordance with Article 9 (2) (g) of GDPR.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Why do we collect this personal data?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We collect and process this information in order to manage and administer the relationship between you and us for the purpose of social inclusion, integration and community engagement and the ability to independently navigate life in Ireland including access to services, education, training and employment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Lawfulness of processing<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We process this personal data<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the exercise of official authority vested in us as the controller.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The lawful basis for processing of personal data is necessary pursuant to Section 66 (3) of the Local Government Act and in accordance with Article 6 (1) (e ) of the GDPR as detailed below;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Article 6(1)(e) processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The lawful basis for processing special category data is detailed in Article 9 (g) as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Article 9 (2)(g) processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, on the basis of Union or Member State law which shall be proportionate to the aim pursued, respect the essence of the right to data protection and provide for suitable and specific measures to safeguard the fundamental rights and the interests of the data subject<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>The lawful basis for processing of personal data by the Local Authority are as follows:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Local Government Act 2001<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Section 66 (3)(a) Subject to this section, a local authority may take such measures, engage in such activities or do such things in accordance with law (including the incurring of expenditure) as it considers necessary or desirable to promote the interests of the local community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Section 66 (3) (b) For the purposes of this section a measure, activity or thing is deemed to promote the interests of the local community if it promotes, directly or indirectly\u2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>social inclusion or the social, environmental, recreational, cultural or community development, or<\/li>\n<li>the general development including enterprise and economic development,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>of the administrative area (or any part of it) of the local authority concerned or of the local community (or any group consisting of members of it).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sharing of Personal Data <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We may share your Personal Data with selected third parties, including for example the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration and other government agencies, where required to do so by law. We may also share your data with other Local Authorities, suppliers and other third parties who assist us in fulfilling our functions.
