{"id":1123,"date":"2019-04-26T10:28:45","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T09:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/communitydevelopment\/?p=1123"},"modified":"2019-07-09T12:08:24","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T11:08:24","slug":"national-bike-week-saturday-june-22nd-sunday-30th-june-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/communitydevelopment\/2019\/04\/26\/national-bike-week-saturday-june-22nd-sunday-30th-june-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"National Bike Week: Saturday June 22nd &#8211; Sunday 30th June 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Bike Week, which takes place annually, returns to Monaghan this June from Saturday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> &#8211; Sunday 30<sup>th<\/sup> June \u00a02019.<\/p>\n<p>Bike Week provides opportunity for \u00a0some fun-filled family events, as well as catering for leisure cycling enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>Monaghan Sports Partnership, on behalf of Monaghan County Council is coordinating local events and we would like to invite the local community to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to host a Bike Week event in your area or for a specific group of people, you are invited to apply for funding towards organising local fun cycling events for public participation<\/p>\n<p>Events may include such activities as:<\/p>\n<p>Family fun cycle, Cycle challenge 5km, 10km, 20km, Cycle to Work, Leisure cycling involving community groups (e.g scouts, youth clubs etc.) Cycle for your breakfast\/lunch\/BBQ \/picnic etc.<\/p>\n<p>Mystery\/History\/Scenic Tours of area (guided\/self-guided) \u2013 Discover \u2018Place\u2019, Treasure Hunt , Bike orienteering, Women Only events, Group cycles:-\u00a0 active retirement groups, nursing homes, work colleagues (lunchtime fitness) etc.<\/p>\n<p>Mountain bike rides, Road rides, Tandem Bike events for the visually impaired etc. Cycling events for children\/adults with a physical\/intellectual disability<\/p>\n<p>The list is endless<\/p>\n<p>Funding available may be somewhere in the range of \u20ac200 to \u20ac500 per group\/event, depending on the number of applications received.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the application form along with terms and conditions here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/communitydevelopment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2019\/04\/Bike-week-local-group-application.docx\">Bike Week Local Group Application Form (MS Word)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closing date is <strong>Friday 10<sup>th<\/sup> May at 5pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Completed application forms should be returned to Monaghan Sports Partnership, c\/o Ballybay Civic Centre, Main Street, Ballybay, Co.
