UI',sans-serif; color: black; background: white;\">The Noise Action Plan (2024 \u2013 2028) has been informed by and is based on the Strategic Noise Maps incorporating \u2018Round 4\u2019 data, which were prepared for Monaghan County Council, and which covers road transport noise from major roads with traffic volumes of more than 3 million vehicles per year.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6f72584 elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6f72584\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Why We Are Doing It<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f7aab0 elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5f7aab0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Noise Action Plan is required under the Environmental Noise Directive (\u201cEND\u201d) (2002\/49\/EC) which was transposed into Irish law through the European Communities (Environmental Noise) Regulations 2018 (S.I. 549\/2018) and the European Communities (Environmental Noise) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (S.I. 663\/2021).\u00a0 The Regulations require Strategic Noise Maps and Noise Action Plans to be made or revised every five years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b6f13e elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7b6f13e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Requirements of the Noise Action Plan<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e9a597f elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e9a597f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Environmental Noise Directive (END) requires local authorities to draw-up plans of action which will include measures to &#8216;address priorities which may be identified by the exceeding of any relevant limit value or by other criteria chosen by the Member State and apply in particular to the most important areas as established by strategic noise mapping&#8217;.\u00a0 It also requires Plans to identify and protect \u201cquiet areas against an increase in noise\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8773e47 elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8773e47\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Locations in County Monaghan which are relevant to the Noise Action Plan<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa64f81 elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aa64f81\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Noise Action Plan relates to Noise from major roads with traffic volumes of more than 3 million vehicles per year within the county and includes the national road; N2 and parts of the non-national road network, namely the R937 (Dublin Road, Monaghan Town), R162 (Glen Road, Monaghan Town), R181 (Main Street, Castleblayney), R183 (Monaghan Road, Castleblayney), R938 (York Street, Castleblayney) &amp; R927 (Main Street, Carrickmacross).<\/p><p>The Monaghan County Council
