Background<\/strong>
\nThe purpose of this notification is to set out some information regarding the collection and processing
\nof your information by Monaghan County Council. During the course of our activities we will collect,
\nstore and process personal data from members of the public in respect of submissions received for
\nthe Draft Monaghan County Council \u2013 Climate Action Plan (2024-2029). Monaghan County Council is
\nthe data controller in respect of this data.
\nMonaghan County Council creates, collects and processes a significant amount of \u2018personal data\u2019 and
\n\u2018sensitive personal data\u2019 in various multiple formats daily. Our commitment is to ensure that the

What data we collect and process<\/strong><\/p>\n

The types of personal data that we will collect, and process includes your Name, address, email
\naddress and, where relevant, the name of body or organisation represented in the submission made.
\nWe do not collect any Special Category Personal data for this activity.
\nWhy do we collect this personal data?
\nWe collect and process this information in order to communicate and administer the relationship
\nbetween you and us for the purpose of your submission received in respect of The Draft Monaghan
\nCounty Council \u2013 Climate Action Plan (2024-2029).<\/p>\n

Third party personal data in submissions:<\/strong>
\nIn cases where a person decides to submit the personal information of another person in their
\nsubmission, they must:
\n\u2022 Notify that person that they are providing their personal information to the Council and obtain
\ntheir permission, OR
\n\u2022 Provide that person with a copy of this Privacy Notice.
\nWhat happens to your submission?
\nSubmissions made either online via the survey, by email or in hard copy are processed in the
\nfollowing manner: –<\/p>\n

The making of the Climate Action Plan and consideration of submissions in relation to the Climate
\nAction Plan are functions carried out by the Council. To facilitate this decision- making process a report
\non any submissions or observations received is prepared for consideration by the elected members.
\nThe report contains a list of the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations, a summary
\nof the issues arising from the submissions, and the response of the Council to those issues, where
\nrelevant. This report shall be published online.<\/p>\n

How long do we hold your personal data held for?<\/strong>
\nWe will keep your information for the lifetime of this plan.
\nLawfulness of processing<\/p>\n

We process this data for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest and in exercise of
\nofficial authority vested in us as the controller, under the Climate Action & Low Carbon Development
\n(Amendment) Act 2021 and Article 6 (1) (e) GDPR.<\/p>\n

Sharing of Personal Data<\/strong>
\nWe may share your Personal Data with selected third parties, including for example the Department
\nof the Environment, Climate and Communications and other government agencies, where required
\nto do so by law. We may also share your data with other Local Authorities, suppliers and other third
\nparties who assist us in fulfilling our functions. Further information regarding the sharing of your
