Monaghan County Council manages a housing stock of approximately 1,350 units in the County. We have an ongoing works programme for maintaining and upgrading existing housing stock. We also have a construction programme for the provision of new single or multiple housing unit developments.

Energy Efficiency Works to Local Authority

Monaghan County Council has implemented a comprehensive annual energy efficiency and retrofitting programme for its Social Housing stock.
This programme is part of a 10 year national programme for improvement in energy efficiency of residential, commercial and public buildings, and the consequent savings in energy and CO2 emissions.
The focus of the annual energy efficiency and retrofitting works programme is to energy retrofit local authority housing stock, with a view of reducing household fuel bills, enhancing comfort levels and reducing carbon emissions.
