Applications are assessed in accordance with the Social Housing Assessment Regulations 2011. If you are applying to Monaghan County Council you can choose up to three housing areas in the Monaghan County Council area. You are advised that all choices are of equal priority and you may be offered housing in any of these areas.<br \/>\nChanges of areas of choice may be made once in any twelve month period.<\/p>\n<h3>How long will it take before I get offered housing?<\/h3>\n<p>Unfortunately this cannot be determined. There is a long list of applicants awaiting social housing support and applicants are housed in accordance with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/housing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/11\/Scheme-of-Letting-Priority-Monaghan-Co-Co-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scheme of Letting Priorities<\/a> <\/strong>\u00a0the next applicant on the list will generally receive the next available and appropriate social housing support. <span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">While you are on the Social Housing waiting list <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">your application will be subject to ongoing review to <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">ensure you remain eligible for social housing <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">support. You should remember that your position <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">may go up or down depending on your <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">circumstances and those of other people on the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun BCX8 SCXP92678647\">housing waiting list. <span class=\"TextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\">If you qualify for social housing support you may be <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\">eligible for other supports, such as HAP, RAS and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-IE\" xml:lang=\"EN-IE\" data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXP174023115 BCX8\">AHB accommodation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Under what circumstances do I need to call to the Public Counter at the Glen or phone with regard to my application for Social Housing Support?<\/h3>\n<p>There is only a need to make contact if information has changed with regard to your application as follows: You have changed address \u2013 you must fill out a Change of address form.<br \/>\nAdding a child \u2013 you must provide a birth certificate and PPSN (Personal Public Service Number)<br \/>\nAdding a partner \u2013 you must submit income details and PPSN, photograph, HP1 form and proof of address<br \/>\nChange of income \u2013 details must be provided<br \/>\nRemoving a member of the household \u2013 by written correspondence<br \/>\nYou wish to add\/amend an Area of Choice \u2013 up to 3 Areas of Choice \u2013 Note that this will stay in place for one year before Areas of Choice can be changed again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE CONTACTED BY POST WITH REGARD TO A HOUSING ASSESSMENT REVIEW, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU REPLY WITH THE REQUIRED INFORMATION BY THE DATE IN THE LETTER.
