Everyone is invited to our free Family Fun Day in Monaghan Institute this Saturday 18th November.

This month we welcome the return of the Cavan Monaghan Science Festival, a regional Festival celebrating, exploring and promoting the wonders of science, technology, engineering arts and maths (STEAM) in our everyday lives. This year the festival will take place from 7th-23rd November across the two counties.

The festival is a Monaghan County Council and Cavan County Council initiative in partnership with Cavan Monaghan ETB, and generously funded by Science Foundation Ireland.

2016 was our inaugural year, with over 145 events and approximately 9000 participants from preschool children to adults attending across the two counties.

We will have some of the best national and international scientists, researchers, speakers, creators and artists to take you on a new road of discovery.

We are all looking forward to Saturday, October 14th in Clones Library where our
Readers Day, Behind the Typewriter takes place. Boasting a host of names and
faces from the Irish and International literary world, this sold out event promises
to be a wonderful day for all those involved.

The Summer Stars Reading Adventure starts on the 26th June in your local library.  Summer Stars is a free programme, open to all children. Each child who registers for the programme at their local library joins in the fun of reading lots of exciting books during the summer. Children will receive their own Summer Stars Reading Card to record their progress and the Summer Stars Reward Stamp will be added to their card at the library for each book read.  Of course there will be rewards and incentives along the way too as well as online games and activities. Everyone is invited to check out http://www.librariesireland.ie/summer-stars/for more details or pop into your local library today.

On Friday 28th April we are officially 5 years open. Can you believe it? Times definitely flies when you are having a good time……

To celebrate this anniversary we are having a day of celebrations in the library including a Mad Hatters tea party for all our members. Everyone welcome ….Tea, coffee, treats and buns throughout the day so come along and help us celebrate.

Making your Will – An Information session with Nathaniel Lacy & Partners on Wednesday 15^th March @ 7pm in Carrickmacross Library

Is making a Will something that you have been putting on the long finger? Hopefully you wont be needing one for a long time to come, but it’s always a good idea to have one, just in case.  Our friendly Neighbours in CTEK have kindly agreed to host an information session on Making your Will on Wednesday 15^th March @ 7pm in Carrickmacross Library.  This is a Free event which will offer advice and information on what to consider when making your will.   Be sure to avail of this useful opportunity.
