\"Local<\/p>\n

Monaghan County Library is dedicated to preserving the area\u2019s local history, the materials that document the history of County Monaghan and to make these materials available to researchers and the general public.<\/p>\n

The goal of the library is to collect and maintain these materials in trust for future generations.<\/p>\n

Our Local History includes the political, social and economic history of County Monaghan past and present.<\/p>\n

We also host a range of Genealogy records that can assist with the study of your family history. Many of these are available online but some, such as the Local Newspaper ‘The Northern Standard’ Obituaries have been compiled in-house and are only available to view in a Co. Monaghan Branch Library. You can however view the index to these Obituaries (see link below).\u00a0 You may also like to have a look at our recommended websites<\/a> or our Local History Video series<\/a> which demonstrates the various online sources listed below.<\/p>\n

Local History & Genealogy Research Facilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are 3 Microfilm<\/a> readers & printers located in the Clones Library.<\/p>\n

It is advisable to book in advance for use of the microfilm reader by contacting the staff at Clones Library 047-74712<\/p>\n
