To begin with, make sure you wear gloves while doing this as some of the products that you use are harmful to the skin. Also, you need to create a clean and safe working environment where you can carry out your task easily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use silver cleaner to clean all the dirt and marks from the objects. This is a timely process as silver tarnishes very easily and begins to look black. You need to use silver cleaner and silver cleaning cloths to do this, along with using cotton swabs for any small and hard to reach areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using cotton swabs and acetone &#8211; The acetone will remove any grease or dirt that was not removed during the initial cleaning process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To preserve this cleaner look, use microcrystalline wax and swab it all over the object. It will act as a barrier and help to keep the silver cleaner for longer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let the object sit for 5-10 minutes and then buff it to make the piece shine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When placing the silver back on display, wear gloves as any oils or dirt from bare hands will mark the silver.<br \/>\nConservation of Silver Objects<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To clean and conserve silver there are certain steps you need to take.
