{"id":20068,"date":"2026-09-14T16:15:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T15:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/?page_id=20068"},"modified":"2026-09-29T09:24:35","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T08:24:35","slug":"public-notice-and-for-the-attention-of-planning-agents-and-applicants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/public-notice-and-for-the-attention-of-planning-agents-and-applicants\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC NOTICE and for the attention of PLANNING AGENTS AND APPLICANTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2024 (as amended)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>and for the attention of<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PLANNING AGENTS AND APPLICANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has informed the local authority of the intention to enact Parts of the new Planning and Development Act 2024 (as amended) by way of Regulations commencing from 13 October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A series of new Planning Regulations will take effect on 13 October 2026 in respect of the following Parts of the new Act:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part 4 Development Consents (and related Parts including Parts 6, 8, 12 &amp; 20)<\/li>\n<li>Part 6 Environmental Assessments<\/li>\n<li>Part 7 (Housing)<\/li>\n<li>Part 10 (Architectural Heritage)<\/li>\n<li>Part 11 Enforcement (and related Parts including Parts 2, 5 &amp; 7)<\/li>\n<li>Parts 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please be aware that these regulations will require modifications to the planning application forms, site notices templates and press notices detail that will be required to make a valid planning application from the effective date of the enactment of Regulations. These modifications will affect the wording of the site and newspaper notices, and the regulations will also require additional items to be included within planning applications. Therefore, to avoid potential invalidation of applications, you are advised to review the regulations when they become publicly available and comply with their requirements for any planning application being submitted when and after they become effective.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Department has indicated the effective date to be 13th October 2026.
