The process to identify land to which the tax applies is now underway and the tax will be payable from 2025.<\/p><p>The objective of the tax is to activate land that is serviced and zoned for residential use or mixed use, including residential use, in order to increase housing supply and to ensure regeneration of vacant and idle lands in urban locations. These locations have been identified within statutory land use plans as being appropriate locations for housing and they have benefitted from investment in the key services to support the delivery of housing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-494bf9c e-flex e-con-boxed elementor-repeater-item-default_padding elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"494bf9c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ang_container_spacing_size&quot;:&quot;default_padding&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-afcdb33 elementor-repeater-item-none elementor-repeater-item-none_hover elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"afcdb33\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>The RZLT process has two parts:<\/h3><p>1) Identification and mapping of the land in scope for the tax. This is undertaken by local authorities through the publication of annual draft and annual final maps \u2013 see below.<\/p><p>2) Administration of the tax, which is to be undertaken by the Revenue
