{"id":6930,"date":"2024-08-15T15:51:18","date_gmt":"2024-08-15T14:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/?page_id=6930"},"modified":"2025-04-04T10:19:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T09:19:06","slug":"built-heritage-investment-scheme-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/built-heritage-investment-scheme-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications &#8211; Closed &#8211; Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Monaghan County Council applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) 2025\u00a0 -Closed<\/p>\n<p><strong>BHIS 2025 Storm Damage Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to several queries concerning damage to protected structures sustained during the recent storms, the Department (Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage) has on a one-off basis permitted local authorities to add projects to their BHIS 2025 reserve list.<\/p>\n<p>The Department will seek to support these and other reserve projects where funding becomes available.<\/p>\n<p>The funds available are likely to be very limited, and so Monaghan County Council will focus only on structures and projects where there is a definite and urgent need.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility criteria for BHIS 2025 Storm Damage Funding are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>That the proposed works seek to primarily repair damage caused by recent storms<\/li>\n<li>That the proposed works are not covered by a relevant insurance claim or by other Government supports such as the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme<\/li>\n<li>That the works are urgent<\/li>\n<li>That a completed BHIS 2025 application form has been submitted<\/li>\n<li>That the project meets the relevant criteria under the BHIS circular and aside from the date of application is otherwise eligible for funding under the scheme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now closed for Applications &#8211; Completed applications using Form A and accompanied by a comprehensive method statement must be submitted to Angela Gallagher, Administrative Officer, Planning Section, No.1 Dublin Street, Monaghan Town, H18 X982 or emailed to <a href=\"mailto:builtheritage@monaghancoco.ie\">builtheritage@monaghancoco.ie<\/a> on or before the 03rd of April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note: There are several changes that have been made to the BHIS for 2025, including<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Revised timelines for submission of grant applications <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Incorporation of the HSF Stream 1 projects into the BHIS 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>An increase in the value for individual grants from \u20ac15,000 to \u20ac50,000<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Match funding requirements have been increased to a maximum of 80% grant support per project.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For more information on any of the changes to the BHIS 2025 please click on the link below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2024\/08\/Changes-to-BHIS-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Changes To BHIS 2025 (PDF)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The BHIS seeks to encourage the investment of private capital in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve historic structures and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons in the repair of the historic built environment. The scheme is designed to assist the owners and\/or occupiers of structures\/properties that are protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). \u00a0It will be administered by Monaghan County Council\u2019s Planning Section.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The categories of structures\/properties eligible for funding under this scheme are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Protected Structures<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Proposed Protected Structures <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Structures\/properties in Architectural Conservation Areas or within the amenity of a National Monument, where exceptional circumstances are deemed by the Department to apply.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding available<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The BHIS scheme will provide grants of <strong>between<\/strong> <strong>\u20ac2,500<\/strong> <strong>and \u20ac50,000<\/strong> for the conservation of historic structures.<\/p>\n<p>Larger grants of between \u20ac50,000 and \u20ac200,000 will be made available under the Historic Structures Fund, which will be advertised in November 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The BHIS 2025 Circular, application form and associated information are available to download below.
