Monaghan County Council is inviting applications for the Historic Structures Fund 2020 and Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2020<\/p>\n

HISTORIC STRUCTURES FUND 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monaghan County Council is now inviting applications under the Historic Structures Fund (HSF).<\/p>\n

Overview<\/strong>
\nThe primary focus of the Historic Structures Fund is on conservation and enhancement of historic structures and buildings for the benefit of communities and the public. It aims to enable conservation works to be carried out on heritage structures which are deemed to be significant and in need of urgent support. The scheme is designed to assist the owners and\/or occupiers of structures\/properties that are protected under the Planning and Development Act. It will be administered by Monaghan County Council\u2019s Planning Section.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/strong>
\nThe categories of structures\/properties eligible for funding under this scheme are:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Protected Structures
\n\u2022 Proposed Protected Structures
\n\u2022 Structures\/properties in Architectural Conservation Areas<\/p>\n

Funding<\/strong>
\nThe HSF will have two streams:<\/p>\n

Stream 1 (from \u20ac15,000 up to \u20ac50,000) for essential repairs and smaller capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of heritage structures.
\nStream 2 (from \u20ac50,000 up to \u20ac200,000) for larger enhancement, refurbishment or reuse projects involving heritage structures, where a clear community or public benefit has been demonstrated
\nSuccessful applicants will be required to, at a minimum, match their funding award.<\/p>\n

Match Funding<\/strong>
\nThe maximum grant available for Stream 1 will be 80% of the eligible costs.
\nThe maximum grant available for Stream 2 will generally be 50% of the eligible costs, however, applicants may seek up to 80% in exceptional circumstances.<\/p>\n

Due to the limited capital resources available for the operation of the HSF (\u20ac1,824,000 nationally), the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will consider 4 applications per Local Authority, only 1 of which may be a publicly-owned building.<\/p>\n

How to apply?<\/strong>
\nThe HSF 2020 Circular and application form are available to download below. Hard copies are also available at Planning Reception.<\/p>\n

Completed applications (Form A) should be submitted to Monaghan County Council, c\/o Joan Ryan Administrative Officer, Planning Section, County Offices, The Glen, Monaghan Town, H18 YT50, on or before the 31st January 2020 .<\/p>\n

Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monaghan County Council is now inviting applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS).<\/p>\n

Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BHIS seeks to encourage the investment of private capital in a number of small scale, labour intensive projects to repair and conserve historic structures and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons. The scheme is designed to assist the owners and\/or occupiers of structures\/properties that are protected under the Planning and Development Act. \u00a0It will be administered by Monaghan County Council\u2019s Planning Section.<\/p>\n
