{"id":6345,"date":"2023-11-09T16:02:15","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T16:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/?p=6345"},"modified":"2024-01-18T14:09:01","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T14:09:01","slug":"built-heritage-investment-scheme-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/2023\/11\/09\/built-heritage-investment-scheme-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"BUILT HERITAGE INVESTMENT SCHEME 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monaghan County Council is now inviting applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The BHIS seeks to encourage the investment of private capital in a number of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve historic structures and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons in the repair of the historic built environment. The scheme is designed to assist the owners and\/or occupiers of structures\/properties that are protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).\u00a0 It will be administered by Monaghan County Council\u2019s Planning Section. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligibility<\/p>\n<p>The categories of structures\/properties eligible for funding under this scheme are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Protected Structures<\/li>\n<li>Proposed Protected Structures<\/li>\n<li>Structures\/properties in Architectural Conservation Areas or within the amenity of a National Monument, where exceptional circumstances are deemed by the Department to apply (in relation to projects funded within an Architectural Conservation Area a maximum grant award of \u20ac10,000 applies)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Funding available<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The minimum funding award under this scheme will be \u20ac2,500, up to a maximum of \u20ac15,000.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants will be required to, at a minimum, match their funding award. Under BHIS, the total value of all public funding provided for individual projects must not exceed 50% of the total project cost, including funding received from other public agencies including the SEAI, the Heritage Council, LEADER, other government departments and local authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Routine maintenance and repair are not normally covered under the BHIS; however Monaghan County Council intend to avail of the\u00a0 Micro-Funding Scheme offered by the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage. A minimum, of \u20ac2000 shall be set aside for this purpose. Under the Micro funding scheme a grant\u00a0 is available for smaller projects of up to \u20ac2500,00. The minimum funding award shall not apply in this instance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The BHIS 2024 Circular, application form and associated information are available to download at https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/planning\/built-heritage-investment-scheme\/.
