{"id":2381,"date":"2024-02-22T16:31:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-22T16:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/roadtransport\/?p=2381"},"modified":"2024-11-19T15:28:23","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T15:28:23","slug":"road-works-glen-road-r162","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/monaghan.ie\/roadtransport\/2024\/02\/22\/road-works-glen-road-r162\/","title":{"rendered":"ROAD WORKS: Glen Road R162"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Monaghan County Council have appointed a contractor to construct a new culvert across the Glen Road as part of an overall phased approach to the replacement of the Monaghan Town Culvert.<\/p>\n<p>The new culvert across the Glen Road is being supported on a piled foundation and the proposed works will be divided into two phases<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 1<\/strong> consists of the culvert works are on the western side of the Glen road and <strong>Phase 2<\/strong> will see the completion of the culvert on the Eastern side as far as the proposed Aldi site boundary. As part of these works a section of the boundary wall with the St Louis Convent grounds will be demolished and rebuilt on a piled foundation.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Monaghan Town Culvert upgrade the Glen Road will be reduced to two lanes from the 26<sup>th<\/sup> of February until November 2024 to facilitate construction works. The traffic management setup will allow for school drop offs and pickups, however please note that traffic delays are likely.
