Monaghan in the Townlands of Derrynagrew and Kilnadreen.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed development will consist of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Existing gateway on N2 is proposed to be removed and replaced with a Type B Gateway.<\/li>\n<li>New pavement construction is proposed where required to widen the carriageway to accommodate the Gateway. Resurfacing is proposed throughout.<\/li>\n<li>Kerbed footpath link to be provided between L16302\/N2 junction and existing footpath at the gateway with a buffer between footpath and carriageway.<\/li>\n<li>Drainage modifications are proposed on the western side to accommodate the new gateway and facilitate pedestrian connections.<\/li>\n<li>An uncontrolled pedestrian crossing is proposed at the L16302 \/ N2 junction.<\/li>\n<li>Landscaping interventions are proposed to incorporate the \u2018Optical Width\u2019 concept in order to reduce the speed of vehicles entering the urban area.<\/li>\n<li>The existing vehicle restraint system on the western side of the carriageway is proposed to be replaced to accommodate provision of the proposed footpath<\/li>\n<li>Public lighting is proposed between the N2 \/ L-16302 junction and the gateway location.<\/li>\n<li>Associated scheme works, site clearance, earthworks, provision of surface water road gullies\/drainage tying into the existing road drainage network, kerbing, pavement, accommodation works, lighting, signing and lining.<\/li>\n<li>All other ancillary and tie-in works to relevant standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The location of the development is as shown on the site location map included in the plans and particulars referred below.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Article 81(2)(ca) and 120(1B)(b)(i) of the above-mentioned regulations, Monaghan County Council, as the competent authority, has concluded from a Screening Determination, which is based on an examination of the nature, size and location of the proposed development, that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development, and as such has determined that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. This Screening Determination is available for inspection, and at any time before the expiration of 4 weeks from the date of publication of this notice, any person may apply to An Coimisi\u00fan Plean\u00e1la for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Article 250(1)(ca) of the above-mentioned regulations, Monaghan County Council, as the competent authority, has concluded from a Screening Determination, which is based on an assessment of best scientific knowledge, that the proposed development, either individually or in combination with other plans or projects, is not likely to have a significant effect on a European site, and as such has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.
