8.30 p.m. Sliabh Beagh, Knockatallon -Launch of specially commissioned CD ‘Home from Home’ by Monaghan Poets and Songwriters Group celebrating the links between Canada and Ireland through song, poetry and storytelling. Irish Dancing. Refreshments Served. An evening of music and fun for all!

Saturday 1st July
8.00 – 11.00 a.m. Today FM Alison Curtis Show – Live broadcast from Westenra Hotel
Interviews with the local folk and visitors exploring their relationship with Canada and involving the listeners to share their stories about Canada.

11.30 a.m. Flag Raising Ceremony in front of the Courthouse -The Canadian Ambassador to Ireland His Excellency Mr. Kevin Vickers will deliver the Canada Day 150 Address followed by a rendition of the Canadian National Anthem ‘ O Canada’ performed by the local Oriel Singers Group

12.00 a.m. – 2.30 p.m.
Ice Hockey Skills demonstrations and fun activities (Belfast Giants and Captain Adam Keefe)
Bouncing Castles, face painting and other fun activities for kids.
Canadian food (Nanaimo Bars, Pancakes w/ Maple Syrup, Maple Cookies, Poutine)
Monaghan Arts Network and Poets and Songwriters Group Exhibition “The ties that connect Canada and Ireland” in verse, song and art.
