From <strong>31 March 2026<\/strong>, the scheme is expanding significantly &#8211; unlocking even more potential in our towns, villages, cities, and rural communities.<\/p>\n<p>This enhanced scheme empowers homeowners, buyers, and community\u2011minded individuals to breathe new life into underused properties while helping to revitalise local areas and increase housing supply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s New from 31 March 2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2026 expansion introduces major improvements, particularly for those converting former commercial or public buildings:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Enhanced funding for multi\u2011unit conversions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Owners converting former commercial\/public buildings into <strong>two or more residential units<\/strong> can now access significantly increased grant supports, with total funding of up to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u20ac70,000<\/strong> for vacant buildings (two units)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u20ac90,000<\/strong> for vacant buildings (three or more units)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u20ac90,000<\/strong> for derelict buildings (two units)<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u20ac110,000<\/strong> for derelict buildings (three or more units)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Top\u2011up amounts vary depending on how many homes are being created\u2014making larger conversions more viable than ever before.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Multiple applications now allowed for multi\u2011unit conversions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals may now apply for <strong>more than one grant<\/strong> where they are converting entire commercial or public buildings into multiple units (one grant per building).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Expert Advice Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A new <strong>\u20ac5,000 Expert Advice Grant<\/strong> is available to help owners explore the feasibility, design requirements, and costs associated with converting larger buildings.
