In addition to the above rates per annum fire-fighters can be paid an hourly rate(s) for their attendance at drills, training and attendance at fire-calls.

Salary Scale: €38,632 to €46,227

Candidates who accept a post and who are not existing local authority staff will be placed on the 1^st point of the Technician Grade 1 pay scale for the role. If a candidate is an existing member of staff of a local authority, the point on the scale will be determined by their service to date.
