The Co. Monaghan Schools Folklore Collection (1937-1939)now available online.

The Schools’ Collection, an important component of the National Folklore Collection, UCD, contains the folklore material recorded by pupils between 1937 and 1939.

This beautiful collection of local history and folklore tales had, up until recently until recently, only been available to view on Microfilm in Clones Library, but now it is available for the world to see and we would highly recommend taking some time to browse through these wonderful copy books.

You can find the complete collection at www.duchas.ie or if you prefer to go straight to the Monaghan Schools you will find them at www.duchas.ie/en/cbes/MU
