Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Thursday 31st October 2024

 

Times: 19:00hrs to 20:30hrs

 

To Facilitate: Clones Halloween Day Festival 2024             

 

Roads Closed:                  

  1. L2800 Lower Fermanagh Street between junction with L2810 Roslea Road and R183 98th Avenue.
  2. R868 Fermanagh Street between R183 98th Avenue and N54 Monaghan Street.

 

Diversion Routes:

L2800 Northbound traffic will be diverted via R183 98th Avenue, N54 Monaghan Road, L2120 New Line Road, L2110 Roslea Road and L2810 Roslea Road.

 

L2800 Southbound traffic will be diverted via L2810 Roslea Road, L2110 Roslea Road, L2120 New Line Road, N54 Monaghan Road and R183 98th Avenue.

 

R868 Fermanagh Street traffic will be diverted via R183 98th Avenue and N54 Monaghan Street.

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004 Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the road listed below in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney. The speed limits are being put in place in the interest of road safety to facilitate roadworks.

7.5t Bridge Weight Restriction Notification

Under Section 93 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 as amended and the Road Traffic Signs Regulations 1997, No. S.I. 182 of 1997 article 17, Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of applying a 7.5t Weight Restriction at the bridge identified as MN-L88201-B-000 in the Townlands of Cornacarrow, Losset and Nure More on the L-88201 road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan.

Date of commencement of the proposed Weight Restriction     

Monday, 21st of October 2024, until such time as further notification is provided and the RUS 053, 7.5t Regulatory signs are removed from the bridge location.

Bridge Location: L-88201-0 in the Townlands of Cornacarrow, Losset and Nure More

Under the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) A road authority may, in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, provide such traffic calming measures as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge.

 

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) of the following scheme:

 

Low Cost Junction Tightening Castleblayney at Junction of L3210 Mile Hill Rd and R181 Shercock Rd Castleblayney Co Monaghan.

 

The proposed scheme will consist of:

  • Provision of kerbing, build outs,
  • Provision of pedestrian crossing on L3210 Mile hill Rd
  • Provision of additional traffic calming signage
  • Improvements to existing Drainage network where required.
  • All associated site works.

 

In accordance with Section 38 of the above-mentioned legislation, Monaghan County Council, as the competent roads authority has concluded that the above scheme complies with the relevant section of the legislation, based on the nature, size, and location of the proposed scheme.

Woodview/ Glen Road Active Travel works at Killygowan Monaghan Town Co Monaghan.

The proposed scheme will consist of:

  • Provision of kerbing, build outs, and pedestrian crossings along the L14112 Woodview
  • Provision of new footway along the L14112 Woodview
  • Provision of additional traffic calming signage
  • Provision of upgrade to existing steps to Glen Road including street lighting and handrailing
  • Introduction of one-way system in front of houses no 15-25 Woodview
  • Provision of high-friction surfacing
  • Improvements to existing Drainage network where required.
  • All associated site works.

Temporary Closing Of Roads – Carrickmacross Festival

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:  31st May 2024

Times: 6pm to 9pm       

To Facilitate: Carrickmacross Street Festival Parade

Road Closed:

  • Castleblayney Rd from the Ross Rd junction to Monaghan St.
  • Monaghan St
  • Main St to the Kingscourt Rd junction.
  • O’Neill St.
  • Bridewell Lane.
  • Parnell St.
  • Chapel Lane.
  • Shirley House Lane
  • Righthand Turn Lane on Farney St

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic travelling south along the R927 towards the town centre shall be diverted along the following route:

  • Right onto Ross Rd to the Shercock Rd roundabout
  • Around the Shercock Rd roundabout onto Ross Rd
  • Left at the junction of Ross Rd and Castleblayney Rd
  • Around the Castleblayney Rd roundabout onto the south bound lane of the N2
  • Left off the N2 at the Dundalk Rd junction
  • Around the Dundalk Rd roundabout onto Oriel Rd
  • Right at the junction of Oriel Rd and the Old Ardee Rd
  • End Detour

Traffic travelling north towards Castle St shall be diverted along the following route:

  • Right onto the Old Ardee Rd
  • Left at the junction of the Old Ardee Rd and Oriel Rd
  • Around the Dundalk Rd roundabout towards the N2 interchange
  • Right onto the north bound land of the N2
  • Left off the N2 towards the Castleblayney Rd roundabout
  • Around the Castleblayney Rd roundabout onto the Castleblayney Rd
  • End Detour

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the A/Senior Engineer, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than 17th May 2024.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Temporary Closing of Roads – Emergency Closure R-185-2

Monaghan County Council hereby gives notice of Emergency Closure in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994 that it will close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date & Time:              Saturday 18th May 2024 (10:00 am to 13:00pm)

 To Facilitate:              A Public Event

 Roads Closed:            R-185-2: For a distance of 1400m between its junction at Drumbanagher LT-52311 to the Junction of the LS-5232 and LP-1301 at Tullyree.

Alternative Routes:  

Traffic wishing to proceed Southbound travelling from Glaslough to the N12 will be diverted in the townland of Drumbanagher via the LP-1211 and then proceed Northwest onto the LP-1210 and then turn left onto the N2 at Emyvale and then proceed Southbound to Monaghan Town, at the Coolshannagh Roundabout take the first exit on to the N12.

Traffic wishing to proceed Northbound travelling to Glaslough will procced on the R185 and then turn right onto the LP-1301 at Tullyree and then proceed Southbound onto the LP-1300 to Piper’s bridge in the townland of Killeef, and then turn right on the N12 and proceed Westbound to Monaghan Town, at Coolshannagh Roundabout take the Third exit on to the N2 and proceed to Emyvale, when in Emyvale turn right on the LP-1210 and proceed Southeast via the LP-1211 to Glaslough.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Temporary Closing of Roads – LP-2233 at Drum village for 1.5km

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay and Clones in County Monaghan:

Date: Between Friday 31st May 2024 and Friday 05th  July 2024

(The Road will be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

LP-2233 at Drum village for 1.5km

Diversion Routes:

Southbound traffic travelling from Scotshouse to Cootehill on the LP-2232 will be diverted left onto the LP-2290, then traffic will turn right onto the R189 heading south, and then turn right onto the R188 heading towards Cootehill.  Traffic will then be diverted right onto the LP-2032 and proceed to the junction LP-2233.

Northbound traffic travelling from Cootehill to Scotshouse will be diverted along the LP-2032 towards Cootehill, then traffic will turn left onto the R188 heading north, and then turn left onto the R189 heading towards Newbliss. Traffic will then be diverted left onto the LP-2290 and proceed to the junction LP-2232.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: 31st May 2024 – Friday 12th July 2024

Times: 8am -7pm

To Facilitate: Drainage Works and Road resurfacing

Road Closed: R-186-3 (“Roads will be closed for a three week period during this advertised closure period to all of the ads.”)

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed South bound on the R-186-3 will be diverted via the

LP-1152, then via the LP-1151, then via the LP-1153, then via the LP-1160 on to the N2.

Traffic wishing to proceed Northbound on the R-186-3 will be diverted via the

LP-1020, then via the LP-1012 and then via the R-186 to Monaghan Town.
