Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Sunday 17th March 2024

Times: 12.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.  

To Facilitate: Monaghan Town St. Patricks Day Parade

Road Closed:    

  • R867 – Church Square/The Diamond, Monaghan – from Rossmore Monument to Church Square
  • LS5515 – Lower Mill Street

Diversion Routes:

Diversions from Emyvale to Ballybay, Clones, Cootehill will be via the N2 bypass to the Dublin Road and N54 Macartan Road

Local access to the town centre and the Courthouse car park will be via Glaslough Street, Macartan Road and Castle Road.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: Sunday 17th March 2024

Times: 12.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.  

To Facilitate: St Patrick’s Day Parade

Road Closed:

R927-3, from Castle Road to Castleblaney Rd 

R178-6, from Dundalk Rd roundabout to Main Street via Farney Street

R179-6, from Junction with Main St to LS8510 (Rockdaniel Rd) junction  

Diversion Routes:

North Bound Traffic – Diverted at Castle Road south onto R927 towards N2 via Oriel Rd. From the N2 interchange travel north, exist the N2 at Cloughvalley Lower towards R927-2 Castleblaney Road, Carrickmacross, detour ends at Inver College.

South Bound Traffic – Diverted onto LP4051 Ross Rd towards the Shercock Rd roundabout and back up Ross Rd. From Ross Rd then directed north onto R927-2 Castleblayney Rd towards N2. From N2 interchange traffic directed south, exit N2 at Drummond Otra towards Dundalk Rd roundabout. Continue along R927-4 Oriel Rd towards Old Ardee Rd, detour ends at Castle Road junction.

The L-4621 from its junction with the L-8620/L-8621 (Kednaminsha Cross) in the Townlands of Kednaminsha, Mucker, Muff, Edenamo, Candlefort and Inishkeen Glebe.

The L-4623 from its junction with the L-4630 to its junction with the L-46321  in the Townlands Candlefort, Inishkeen Glebe and Lacklom

Road Works Speed Limit Order – LT-12102 Tully Road:

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004 Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the roads listed below in the Municipal District of Monaghan. The speed limits are being put in place in the interest of road safety to facilitate roadworks.

Temporary Closing Of Road – LT-16102 for Ballinode Street Festival

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              Sunday 25th June 2023

Times:                                  12.00am – 9.00pm

To Facilitate:                     Ballinode Street Festival

 

Road Closed:                    

LT-16102:  For a distance of 150m on the South side of Cappog Road in Ballinode Village and the other closer location at the North side of Maggie’s Bar on the LT-16102 in the Townland of Cappog.

 

Diversion Routes:

Southbound traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-16102 will be diverted South via the R186 at the townland of Clontoe, then traffic is to proceed South via the R186 and turn right at Connolly’s Bridge and proceed West on the LP-1610 to the townland of Quiglough.

 

Northbound traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-16102 will be diverted East via the LP-1610, at the townland of Mullaghmore West, traffic will proceed on the LP-1610 and then turn left on the R186 at Connolly’s Bridge and proceed North to the townland of Drumbarnet and turn left onto the LT-16102.

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Phase 2 (Mall Road Closure) – Traffic wishing to proceed on the L-1412-0 will be diverted right onto the L-1412-1, then left onto the N-54-10, then left onto the R-162-1.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              3rd July 2023 to 21st July 2023

 To Facilitate:                     Bridge Rehabilitation Works

 Road Closed:                     L-40054 in the townlands of Corhelshinagh, Lisirril, Carrickadooey and Faraghy

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-40054 in the direction of Sreenty from the R181-9 will be diverted by remaining on the R181, and then turning right onto the L-4005.

 

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-40054 in the direction of the R181 will be diverted by remaining on the L-40051, then turning left onto the L-4005, and then continuing along the R181.

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).

 

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan, not later than Tuesday, 20th June 2023. West Street, Castleblayney, R181-3.

 

Diversion Routes:

York Street to Muckno Street: Traffic will be diverted right off the R938-0 York Street onto the LT75066 Thomas Street, left onto the LT75065 Henry Street and then right onto the R181-0 Muckno Street.

 

Muckno Street to York Street: Traffic will be diverted left off the R181-3 Muckno Street onto the LT 75065 Henry/Church Street, then left onto the R938-0 York Street.

Temporary Closing of Roads – LT-12102 Tully Road

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date:     Between Monday 3rd July 2023 and Friday 27th October 2023

(The Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the Closure Period)

 

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

LT-12102 Tully Road: For a distance of 1,465m between its junction with the LP 1210 at Derrygassan Lower to the end of the road at Derryhallagh.

 

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from at Derrygassan Lower to Derryhallagh will be diverted onto the LS-5207 and continue West before turning right onto the N2 towards Emyvale and continue to the junction of the LP-1210. Traffic will turn right and travel east along the LP-1210 Emyvale to Glaslough Road and arrive at Derryhallagh.

 

Southbound traffic travelling from Derryhallagh to Derrygassan Lower will be diverted left onto the LP-1210 Emyvale to Glaslough and proceed west to the junction with the N2. Traffic will turn left and proceed along the N2 towards Monaghan to the junction with the LS-5207. Traffic will turn left and continue east along the LS-5207 and arrive at Derrygassan Lower.

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
