Taking in charge of Estates & Declaration of Public Roads

Section 180 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) & Section 11 of the Roads Act 1993 (as amended)

Monaghan County Council propose to take in charge and make a declaration of the associated estate roads, footpaths, public lighting, storm water services and public open spaces at the following residential developments in accordance with the relevant sections of the above Acts.

• Section of Drummond Radhairc, Carrickmacross (development built pursuant to planning permission Ref. No. 17/553).
• Section of Drumbear Wood, Monaghan Town (built pursuant to planning permission Ref. No’s 10/305 & 15/9010).
• Ardveagh, Ballybay.
• Scotshouse Close, Scotshouse.
• The Alders, Ballybay.

Location maps of the estates and roads to be declared ‘public roads’ are available for inspection at the offices of Monaghan Council Planning Department, 1 Dublin Street, Monaghan during normal office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, for a period of one month commencing on the 12th of October 2023. The Council will consider any objections / representations regarding the proposals which are submitted in writing to the undersigned. Closing date for receipt of objections / representations is 5.00 p.m. on Monday the 27th November 2023.

Road Works Speed Limit Order – N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow N2 Clontibret roundabout to townland of Lislanly, N2 Lislanly roundabout

 Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Road Traffic Act 2004 Section 10 (1) of the Council’s intention to put in place Special Speed Limits for Road Works on the roads listed below in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney, Ballybay/Clones and Monaghan. The speed limits are being put in place in the interest of road safety to facilitate roadworks.

Temporary Closing of Roads – R181 Lough Egish to Shercock Road

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

 

Date:                  Friday 13th October 2023 to Friday 20th October 2023

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

R181 Lough Egish to Shercock Road: For a distance of 3km between its junction with the LP 4040 at Shantonagh to the end of the works at Corraharra.

 

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from Shercock to Lough Egish will be diverted onto the R178 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R180 to Lough Egish.

Southbound traffic travelling from Lough Egish to Shercock onto the R180 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R178 to Shercock

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Dates of Closure:            16th October 2023 – 30th November 2023                                          

Road Closed: N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Kilcrow (N2 Clontibret Roundabout) to the townland of Lislanly (N2 Lislanly Roundabout).

Times: 7pm – 6am 

To Facilitate:   Pavement Renewal Scheme

Diversion Routes: South East Diversion- From the N2 Clontibret Roundabout, take the R184, then travel south east along the Old N2 (LP3444), through Annayalla Village and Castleblayney Town (R183, R181), then access the N2 via the N53.

North West Diversion- From the N2 Tullyvin Roundabout, take the N53 into Castleblayney Town. Travel north west through Castleblayney taking the R181 & 183, then continue north west along the Old N2 (LP3444). Then access the N2 via the R184 at the N2 Clontibret Roundabout

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

  • Fermanagh Street between N54 and 98 Avenue (R183)

Diversion Routes

Fermanagh Street, Clones:

Traffic wishing to travel on Fermanagh Street (R868) shall divert at the junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue onto 98 Avenue(R183). Turn right at the traffic lights onto Monaghan Street(N54) and continuing to the end of the diversion at The Diamond, Clones.

Lower Fermanagh Street, Clones:

Northbound traffic wishing to travel on Lower Fermanagh Street (LP-2800) shall divert at the junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue onto 98 Avenue(R183). Turn left at the traffic lights onto the N54 Monaghan Road. After 2.5km turn left on the LP-2120 (New Line) road. Travel to end of the road and turn left on the LP-2110 (Clones-Roslea Road). Diversion ends at the end of road with the junction of Church Hill (LP-2800)

Southbound traffic wishing to travel on Lower Fermanagh Street (LP-2800) shall divert onto the Roslea Road (LP-2810). After 3 km turn right on the LP-2120 (New Line) road. Travel to the end of the road and turn right on the N54 (Monaghan-Clones Road). At the traffic lights, turn right onto 98 Avenue (R183). Diversion ends at the traffic light junction of Newtownbutler Road/Fermanagh Street/98 Avenue.

Traffic coming from the South, via Dawson Street, wishing to access Dublin Street, may do so via North Rd (NS 54)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.

Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.
