Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                  Monday 11^th September 2023 to Friday 13^th October 2023

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

R181 Lough Egish to Shercock Road: For a distance of 3km between its junction with the LP 4040 at Shantonagh to the end of the works at Corraharra. 

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from Shercock to Lough Egish will be diverted onto the R178 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R180 to Lough Egish.

Southbound traffic travelling from Lough Egish to Shercock onto the R180 to Carrickmacross and then onto the R178 to Shercock

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 29^th August 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Roads Closed:    R181-3 Castleblayney Main Street from Market Square up to the Roundabout, R938 York Street from the traffic lights up to the Junction with the LT-75066 Thomas Street and the LT-75065 at Market Square

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R938 (York Street) will be diverted right onto the LT-75066 (Thomas Street), left onto the LT-75065 (Henry Street).

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R183-15 (Monaghan Road) will be diverted onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road), right or left onto the R181-3 (Muckno Street)

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R181-4 (Shercock Road) will be diverted onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road), right onto the R181-3 (Muckno Street).

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Traffic approaching from Keady Road will be diverted to McGrath Road

Traffic going towards Keady from south of town will be diverted to McGrath Road

Traffic on Main Street will be diverted via Henry Street, Church Street and York Street.

Henry Street traffic approaching Muckno Street will be diverted left at Market Square West

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:                     Monday 11^th September 2023 to Friday 20^th October 2023

(Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the Closure Period) 

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

R927-3 at Magheross for a distance of 900m from its junction with R179-5 Kingscourt Road to its junction with LP-4800-0 Tullynaskeagh.

Diversion Routes:

Southbound traffic travelling from Kingscourt Road on the R179 will be diverted left onto R927 heading North along Main St and continuing to Castleblayney Road, at the Castleblayney Road roundabout traffic will be diverted right onto the Southbound lane of the N2 at the Carrickmacross North Interchange. At the junction of N2/LP4922 traffic shall be directed right onto LP4922 heading Northwest and proceed to the LP4800 Drumconrath Road junction.

Northbound traffic travelling from Drumconrath to Carrickmacross on the LP4800 shall be diverted right onto LP4921 heading Southeast, at the junction of LP4922/N2 traffic shall be diverted left onto the N2 heading Northbound, at the Carrickmacross North Interchange traffic shall be diverted left towards Carrickmacross Town Centre. At Castleblayney Road roundabout traffic shall be diverted left  onto R927 towards Main St heading south and proceed towards R179 Kingscourt Road junction.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Road Closed:                     L-5500 in the townlands of Cordevlis, Castleshane and Aghnaglogh.

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-5500 from the N2 southbound will be diverted by remaining on the N2, then turning right onto the L-1510, then continuing on the L-3330, then turning right on to the L-3301, then turning right onto the L-1501, then turning right on to the L-5501 and continuing to the L-5500.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-5500 from the N2 northbound will be diverted by remaining on the N2, then turning left onto the L-5520, then turning left onto the 1501,  then turning left onto the 5501 and continuing to the L-5500.

Traffic wishing to travel from the L-55002 along the L-5500 to the N2 southbound will be diverted by turning left onto the L-5501, then turning left on the L-1501, then turning left on to the L-3301, then turning left onto the L-3330, then continuing on the L-1510 to the N2.

Traffic wishing to travel from the L-55002 along the L-5500 to the N2 northbound will be diverted by turning left onto the L-5501, then turning right onto the L-1501, then turning right on to the L-5520 and continuing to the N2

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan, not later than Tuesday, 22^nd August 2023. Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                                Friday 28^th July 2023 to Friday 18^th August 2023 (24 hr closure)

To facilitate:                    Bridge Rehabilitation Works

Road Closed:                    L-6310 in the townlands of Mullymagaraghan, Aghabog and Corduff.

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6310 from the L-2311 will be diverted by remaining on the L-2311/L-2310, then turning left onto the R-189, then turning left onto the L-63101 and continuing to the L-6310.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6310 in the direction of the L-2311 will be diverted by turning left onto the L-63101, then turning right onto the R-189, then turning right onto the L-2310 and continuing to the L-2311

 

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:     Between Monday 31^st July 2023 and Friday 10^th November 2023

(Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the Closure Period)

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

 

Road Closed:

LT-40052 for a distance of 2km between its junctions with the LP-4005 at Coraghy and the LT40054 at Faraghy.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic travelling from Faraghy to Coraghy will be diverted East along the LT40054 to the junction with LT40051 at Sreenty and turn left onto the LT40051.  Traffic will continue North along the LT40051 to the junction with the LP4005 at Coraghy.  Traffic will turn left and continue West along the LP4005 to its junction with the LT40052 at Coraghy.

Southbound traffic travelling from Coraghy to Faraghy will be diverted East along the LP4005 to the junction with the LT40051 at Coraghy.  Traffic will turn right and proceed South along the LT40051 to the junction with the LT40054 at Sreenty.  Traffic will turn right and continue West along the LT40054 to its junctions with the LT40052 at Faraghy.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
