Legislative Procedure for Traffic Calming Procedures under the Road Traffic Act 1994
Under the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) A road authority may, in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, provide such traffic
calming measures as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 38 of the  Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) of the following scheme:
Installation of additional road markings on the R182 at Lisdonny and Oram, Co. Monaghan.

The proposed scheme will consist of: Additional Road Markings
In accordance with Section 38 of the above-mentioned legislation, Monaghan County Council, as the competent roads authority has
concluded that the above scheme complies with relevant section of the legislation, based on the nature, size and location of the
proposed scheme.

Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme are available for inspection at the offices of the Road Section, MTEK II Building,
Knockaconny, Armagh Road, Monaghan and also at Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD Office, Carrickmacross Civic Offices, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan during office hours from the 27th October 2022. Submissions and observations in relation to the proposed works,
may be made in writing to the Roads Section, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny,Armagh Road, Monaghan or MD Offices up to 5pm on Monday 24th of November 2022.

Temporary Closing of Roads – L-6310-0 in the Townlands of Mullymagaraghan, Corduff and Crappagh Co. Monaghan

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:               Tuesday 1st November 2022 to Friday 4th November 2022 (24 hr closure)

 To Facilitate:                      Bridge Investigation Works.

 Roads Closed:                    L-6310-0 in the Townlands of Mullymagaraghan, Corduff and Crappagh  Co. Monaghan

 

Division Route:

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6310 from the L-2311 in the direction of the townland of Kilmore West/Kilnaharvey will be diverted by continuing on the L-2310 to the R-189, then turning left onto the R-189, then turning left on to the L-63103, then turning left on to the L-63102, then turning right on to the L-63101, then turning right on to the L-6310.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-6310 from the townland of Kilmore West/Kilnaharvey in the direction of the L-2311 will be diverted by turning left onto the L-63101, then turning left onto the L-63102, then turning right on to the L-63103, then turning right on to the R-187, then turning right on to the L-2310.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the traffic. (L-6310 – Local Access only, no through road at the Bridge Works).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

To Facilitate:                     Monaghan Halloween Festival

 Road Closed:                     R-867 – Church Square, Monaghan

(From Rossmore Monument to Church Square)

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic approaching from Glaslough Street (N54-10) will be diverted at the Diamond (R-867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N-54-10) then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Macartan Road (N0-54-10) then right at the junction of Macartan Road and Dawson Street onto Dawson Street (N-54-8)

Eastbound traffic approaching from Dawson Street (N54-8) will be diverted straight ahead onto Church Square then right onto Mill Street (LS-5515-0) then continue straight ahead onto The Diamond (R-867-1)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises

Entrance to the Courthouse carpark will be via Broad Road (N-54-10) and Castle Road (LT-14121-0)

Existing exit from the courthouse carpark onto Church Square (R-867-1) will be maintained for the duration of the event

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal Districts of Monaghan and Ballybay-Clones in County Monaghan:

 

Dates of Closure:             Monday 17th October to Friday 21st October 2022 inclusive          

 To Facilitate:                      Road Pavement Rehabilitation Works

 Roads Closed:                    National Secondary Road N54, from the townland of Clonavarne to Clones.

 

Diversion Route:              Eastbound Diversion- In Clones, travel south along O’Duffy Street (R183), then continue travelling east along the R183 to Newbliss, take the R189 from Newbliss and continue through Three Mile House & Kiltubrid to the R189/N54 junction at Clonavarne. End of detour.

Westbound Diversion- Above route in reverse.

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Taking in charge of Estate & Declaration of a Public Road

Section 180 of the Planning & Development Acts 2000-2010 & Section 11 of the Roads Act 1993

Monaghan County Council propose to take in charge and make a declaration of the associated estate roads, footpaths and public open spaces at Sliabh Dubh, Corduff, Carrickmacross in accordance with the relevant sections of the above Acts.

A location map of the estate and roads to be declared ‘public roads’ are available for inspection at the offices of Monaghan Council Planning Department, 1 Dublin Street, Monaghan during normal office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, for a period of one month commencing on the 06th of October 2022.  The Council will consider any objections / representations regarding the proposal which are submitted in writing to the undersigned.  Closing date for receipt of objections / representations is 5.00 p.m. on the 21st of November 2022.

To Facilitate:     Windfarm Construction works

Roads Closed:    LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel from the R-189 to the L-6201 shall be diverted from the junction of the L-6210/L-62013 in the Townland of Cornawall by remaining on the L-6210, then turning left on to the L-6201.

Traffic wishing to travel from the Townland of Drumgramph to the R-189 in the Townland of Doohat shall be diverted onto the L-6201, then turning left onto the L-2232, then turning left onto the L-2290 and continuing to the R-189.
