Temporary Closing of Roads – To Facilitate: Windfarm Construction works

Monaghan County Council gives notice to extend the following road closure in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:                    From 23rd  December 2023 to 23rd March 2024 (24 hr closure)

To Facilitate:     Windfarm Construction works

Roads Closed:    LT-62013 for its full length from its junction with the LS6210 & LT62013

 

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel from the R-189 to the L-6201 shall be diverted from the junction of the L-6210/L-62013 in the Townland of Cornawall by remaining on the L-6210, then turning left on to the L-6201.

Traffic wishing to travel from the Townland of Drumgramph to the R-189 in the Townland of Doohat shall be diverted onto the L-6201, then turning left onto the L-2232, then turning left onto the L-2290 and continuing to the R-189.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: From 12th December 2023 until 19th December 2023

Times: N54 North Road: lane closure 00:00 – 24:00

N54 Glaslough Street: lane closure 19:00 – 6:00

To Facilitate: Replacement of Kerbing and Paving to Footway on North Road and Glaslough St adjacent to Peace Campus Site.

 

Road Closed:                   

North Road N54 – Lane Closure of Glaslough St bound Lane along the boundary of the Peace Campus Construction Site.

Glaslough Street N54 – Lane Closure of Plantation Road bound Lane along the boundary of the Peace Campus Construction Site.

 

Diversion Routes:

North Road N54 – Glaslough Street bound lane to be closed. For vehicular access to Glaslough Street motorists must follow the diversion route proceeding on the N54 North/East bound towards Coolshannagh Roundabout.

Local and emergency services access will be catered for at all times.

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Scotch Corner traffic calming works at Derryarrilly, Co Monaghan

Legislative Procedure for Traffic Calming Procedures under the Road Traffic Act 1994

Under the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) A road authority may, in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, provide such traffic calming measures as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge.

 Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) of the following scheme:

Scotch Corner traffic calming works at Derryarrilly, Co Monaghan. 

The proposed scheme will consist of:

  • Provision of kerbing at the L3421,L3300,R184 junction
  • Provision of additional traffic calming signage
  • Provision of high friction surfacing
  • Improvements to existing Drainage network where required.
  • All associated site works.

Westbound traffic approaching from Glaslough Street (N54-10) will be diverted at the Diamond (R867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N54-10) then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road (N54-10) then right at the junction of Broad Road and Market Street onto Market Street (N54-8)

Eastbound traffic approaching from Dawson Street (N54-8) will be diverted straight ahead onto Church Square then right onto Mill Street (LS5515-0) then continue straight ahead onto The Diamond (R867-1)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.

Entrance to the Courthouse carpark will be via Broad Road (N54-10) and Castle Road (LT14121-0)

An alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted via:

Traffic travelling north will be diverted on to the N54 national road, taking the first exit onto the N2 national road, then a left turn onto Cluain Ard (L16302)

Traffic travelling south will be diverted on to Cluain Ard (L16302), taking a right on to the N2 national road, and taking the third exit on to the N54 national road
