Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

 

Date:                     Sunday 3^rd December 2023

Times:                  9.00am -9.00pm

To Facilitate:      Castleblayney Christmas Market

 

Roads Closed:

Hope Castle Avenue and Car Park & The Annex Car Park from a point 25 metres from the Lough Muckno Leisure Park entrance.

 Access will be maintained to all other areas of the Leisure Park.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date:     Between Friday 17th November 2023 and Friday 15^th December 2023 (24 hr closure)

To Facilitate:      Road Improvement Works

Road Closed:

L-2800 Lower Fermanagh Street & Church Hill for a distance of 530m from junction of Lower Fermanagh Street with R183 Newtownbutler Road and R183 98^th Avenue to junction of Church Hill with Riverlane & Millbrook Upper.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound traffic will be diverted via Newtownbutler & Magheraveely along R183 Newtownbutler Road, A34 Clones Road, B143 Magheraveely Road, L21002 / L-28001 Lisnaroe Road and Millbrook Upper.

Southbound traffic will be diverted via Magheraveely & Newtownbutler along Millbrook Upper, L21002 / L-28001 Lisnaroe Road, B143 Magheraveely Road, A34 Clones Road and R183 Newtownbutler Road.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times). 

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday, 7^th November 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

To Facilitate:      Turning on of the Christmas Lights in Castleblayney

Roads Closed: R181-3 Castleblayney Main Street from Market square up to the Traffic Lights, Muckno Street From the junction at McGrath Road to Market Square, LT-75065 Henry Street and the LT-75065 at Market Square

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R181-3 (Keady Road) from the R938 (York Street) will be diverted left onto the R181-3 Main Street, then right onto the R183-15 (Monaghan Road) and then right onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road).

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R181-3 (Keady Road) will be diverted right onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road), left onto the R183-15 (Monaghan Road)

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

To Facilitate:                     Turning on of the Christmas Lights in Monaghan Town

 Road Closed:                     R-867 Church Square, Monaghan (From Rossmore Monument to

Church Square) – LS5515 Lower Mill Street

 

Diversion Routes:

Westbound traffic approaching from Glaslough Street (N54-10) will be diverted at the Diamond (R-867-1) left onto Dublin Street (N54-10) then take the 3^rd exit at the roundabout at Old Cross Square onto Broad Road (N54-10) then right at the junction of Broad Road and Market Street onto Market Street (N54-8)

Eastbound traffic approaching from Dawson Street (N54-8) will be diverted straight ahead onto Church Square then right onto Mill Street (LS-5515-0) then continue straight ahead onto The Diamond (R-867-1)

Taxi Rank outside of Courthouse to be temporarily relocated to the North Road alongside the DV8 premises.

Entrance to the Courthouse carpark will be via Broad Road (N54-10) and Castle Road (LT-14121-0)

Existing exit from the courthouse carpark onto Church Square (R-867-1) will be maintained for the duration of the event.

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure: From 21^st November 2023 until 12^th December 2023 for 1 week period within the dates given –

 

 Times: 00:00hrs – 24:00hrs for lane closures

N54 North Road: lane closure 00:00 – 24:00

N54 Glaslough Street: lane closure 7pm – 6am

To Facilitate: Replacement of Kerbing and Paving to Footway on North Road and Glaslough St adjacent to Peace Campus Site.

 

Road Closed:                    

North Road N54 – Lane Closure of Glaslough St bound Lane along the boundary of the Peace Campus Construction Site.

Glaslough Street N54 – Lane Closure of Plantation Road bound Lane along the boundary of the Peace Campus Construction Site.

 

Diversion Routes:

North Road N54 – Glaslough Street bound lane to be closed. For vehicular access to Glaslough Street motorists must follow the diversion route proceeding on the N54 North/East bound towards Coolshannagh Roundabout. 

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the A/Senior Engineer, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 7^th November 2023.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

To Facilitate:     Road Surfacing Improvement Works

Road Closed:     R178-5 Parnell Street from Main Street to the R178 Shercock Road.

Diversion Routes:

Traffic will be diverted straight on R927-3 Main Street onto Monaghan Street, turn left onto the LP-4050 Ross Road.

Note:

Monaghan Co. Council is now implementing measures to restrict the movement of HGV’s (Heavy Goods Vehicles) through Main Street, Carrickmacross between the hours of 8am to 5am Monday to Sunday. These restrictions only apply to vehicles of 3-axle or greater.

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan.

Dates of Closure:            06/11/2023 to 24/11/2023 Monday to Friday                                              

Roads Closed:                 R162 Glen Road from its junction with the L1412 Mall Road to the N54 Traffic Lights and the N54 Dawsons Street from its junction with the R867 (Dinkins) to the N54 Traffic Lights.

Times:                               8.00pm – 6.00am

To  Facilitate:                   Road Pavement Rehabilitation Works

Diversion Routes:

Northbound Diversion (for Monaghan Town) – Traffic will be diverted at Swanns Cross R188/R183 Roundabout for Newbliss R183. In Newbliss turn right onto the R189 for Threemilehouse/Monaghan. At the R189/N54 Junction turn right for Monaghan Town Centre. At the Margaret Skinnader Roundabout take the first exit onto R867 Park Street. Keep Right at the Market House and rejoin the N54.

Southbound Traffic (for Cootehill/Ballybay) approaching from Monaghan Town Centre – Take the R867 opposite the Courthouse onto the N54 North Road, Stay on the North road and follow the signs for N2 Derry/N12 Armagh at the Peugeot Garage. At Coolshannagh Roundabout take the 2^nd Exit for Dublin. At the Corlat roundabout take the 2^nd exit for N54 Town Centre. Turn left onto the L1412 Mall Road, (just before Old Cross Square Roundabout). At the end of the L1412 Mall Road turn left onto the R162 Cootehill/Ballybay road.

Southbound Traffic (for Cootehill/Ballybay) approaching from N2 Emyvale – At Coolshannagh Roundabout take the 2^nd Exit for Dublin. At the Corlat roundabout take the 2^nd exit for N54 Town Centre. Turn left onto the L1412 Mall Road, (just before Old Cross Square Roundabout). At the end of the L1412 Mall Road turn left onto the R162 Cootehill/Ballybay road.

Southbound Traffic (for Cootehill/Ballybay) approaching from N54 Dublin Street/ Old Cross Square – At the Old Cross Square Roundabout take the N2 Dublin Exit off the roundabout and then turn right immediately onto L1412 Mall Road. At the end of the L1412 Mall Road turn left onto the R162 Cootehill/Ballybay road.

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Westbound traffic will be diverted along the N54 towards Smithborough, then turn right onto L-2150

Eastbound traffic will be diverted along L-2150 towards the N54, then turn left onto the N54
