Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following roads in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:                  Sunday 25th September 2022 (09:00 to 18:00)

To Facilitate:      Castleblayney Fair Day

Roads Closed:    R181-3 Castleblayney Main Street from Market Square up to the Roundabout, R938 York Street from the traffic lights up to the Junction with the LT-75066 Thomas Street and the LT-75065 at Market Square

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R938 (York Street) will be diverted right onto the LT-75066 (Thomas Street), left onto the LT-75065 (Henry Street).

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R183-15 (Monaghan Road) will be diverted onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road), right or left onto the R181-3 (Muckno Street).

Traffic wishing to proceed onto R181-3 (Castleblayney Main Street) from the R181-4 (Shercock Road) will be diverted onto the LT-75064 (McGrath Road), right onto the R181-3 (Muckno Street).

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of the above-mentioned roads with the Roads Department, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 6th of September 2022.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.
