Monaghan Public Participation Network (PPN) was established as part of Local Government Reform Act 2014.  The Monaghan Public Participation Network is a network of community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental organisations who are active across County Monaghan. There is a PPN in every local authority area and the PPN operates under the auspices of Monaghan County Council.

Monaghan PPN wishes to engage a consultant to facilitate development of the 2022 – 2025 Strategic Plan. To request a copy of the tender document or other information please contact

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following roads in County Monaghan:

Date:- Monday 23rd August 2021 until Friday 24th September 2021

between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm

Each Road will be closed for a maximum of 1 week within the Closure Period

To facilitate:  Road Improvement Works

Roads Closed in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney

  • LT-49112-0 in the Townland of Drumbracken

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 3rd August 2021.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice of Intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date & Time:      Monday 16th of August 2021 to Friday 3rd of September 2021

To Facilitate:      Bridge Rehabilitation Works.

Roads Closed:

R-184-1 in the townlands of Aghnameal/Kilcrow/Glasdrumman West Co. Monaghan

Diversion Route:

Traffic wishing to travel on the R-184 to Scotch Corner will be diverted onto the R-184 at the Clontibret Roundabout, then turning right on to the L-3444/L-3443/L-3442 to Annyalla, then turning right on to the L-3400 to Cremartin, then turning right on to the L-3411 and continuing on the L-3420/L-3421 to Scotch Corner.

Traffic wishing to travel to Clontibret from Scotch Corner on the R-184 will be diverted on to the L-3421, then continuing on the L-3420/L-3411 to Cremartin, then turning left on to the L-3400 to Annyalla, then turning left on to the L-3442, then continuing along the L-3442/L-3443/L-3444 to Clontibret.

All Detours will be signposted to direct the Traffic. (R-184-1 Local Access only, no through at Bridge Works).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to closing the above-mentioned road with the Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan, not later than Tuesday 3rd of August 2021.  Any objections must be clearly marked on the envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones

Casual Trading Act 1995

Notice is hereby given that The Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones proposes to amend the Bye Laws previous known as Clones Town Council Casual Trading Area Bye-Laws as adopted by Clones Town Council on 25th January 1999 in relation to the control, regulation, supervision and administration of Casual Trading in Clones  to amend the Bye Laws to allow for the elected members of the Municipal District of Ballybay and Clones to have the following powers to be exercised by Resolution:

  • To extend the areas within which casual trading is to take place.
  • To remove any casual trading area as a place where casual trading can take place
  • To extend or limit the times during which casual trading can take place
  • To increase or decrease fees payable for granting of a casual trading licence.
  • After consultation with An Garda Sīochána, to suspend the operation of these Bye-Laws for a specified period, or within a specified place within the town of Ballybay

A copy of the proposed draft  Casual Trading (Control and Description) Bye-laws for Clones and map will be available for inspection by contacting the offices of Ballybay/Clones Municipal District by telephone on 047 51018 between the hours of 9.30am -5.15pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)  or  by emailing clones@monaghancoco.ie   for a period of 1 month from date of publication of this notice. The Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones will consider any submissions in relation to the proposed draft Casual Trading ( Control and Description) Bye-laws which are submitted in writing to it by any person within 2 weeks after the end of the period for the inspection of the proposed Bye-Laws.
