Monaghan County Council Seeking Large Private Rented Accommodation

Monaghan County Council is seeking expressions of interest from Landlords with 5 bedroom properties for let for inclusion in the Rental Accommodation Schemes in the following town:

Carrickmacross

Houses to be considered must be close to services in above towns, ideally within one mile (1.6km) from shops, school etc.  If you have any such houses available for renting, or that may become available shortly, please write in with the details, including size of house, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, ownership, date available, location map & BER (if available) and monthly rent price.

Submissions Sought from the Public on Local Adjustment Factor for Property Tax

The Finance (Local Property Tax) Act 2012 (as amended), makes specific provision that elected members of a local authority may pass a formal resolution to vary the basic rate of the Local Property Tax for their administrative area by a percentage known as the local adjustment factor.

At the meeting set by Monaghan County Council to consider this matter, the members may set a local adjustment factor within the range of +/- 15% of the basic rate, or, may decide not to adjust the basic rate. Monaghan County Council will meet in September 2018 to consider the setting of a local adjustment factor.

Monaghan County Council welcomes written submissions from the public on this matter specifically covering the potential effects of varying the basic rate of the Local Property Tax on businesses, individuals and on local authority services.

Submissions must be received by Friday 27th July 2018 and be sent to:

Monaghan County Council Lough Muckno Park Bye-Laws 2018

NOTICE is hereby given that the Municipal District of Carrickmacross – Castleblayney, in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001, has adopted the Monaghan County Council Lough Muckno Park Bye-Laws 2018 at a meeting held on the 28th of May, 2018.

The purpose of the bye-laws is to regulate the use, operation, protection and management of Lough Muckno Park which is owned, controlled and managed by and in the charge of Monaghan County Council and the Municipal District of Carrickmacross – Castleblayney. The bye-laws are in place to ensure that Lough Muckno Park is provided as a public amenity and used by members of the public to the maximum extent in safety and comfort.

A copy of the bye-laws may be inspected at the offices of the Municipal District of Carrickmacross – Castleblayney, Civic Offices, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan between the hours of 9.15 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday (exclusive of Bank Holidays) and may be viewed on the Municipal District’s website at www.carrickmacross.ie, www.castleblayney.ie, www.monaghan.ie and in the Carrickmacross Branch Library.

Monaghan County Council’s Authorised Field Officers will shortly be commencing calling at each residence in County Monaghan to ascertain the number of occupants in each house over the age of 18 who are entitled to vote. We would appreciate your co-operation with them to ensure that you are registered correctly by providing name, address, date of birth and Eircode.

Please note that this information is being collated for the DRAFT Register of Electors 2019/2020 which will be published on 1st November 2018 and which will come into force on 15th February 2019. This will mean that for voting purposes your details will not come into effect until next year.

In the event of an Election/Referendum before the Draft Register is published, and if you are not currently registered, have moved address or turned 18 YOU MUST complete a Supplement application form.
