NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND BYE-LAWS

CASUAL TRADING (CONTROL AND DESIGNATION) BYE-LAWS 2025

Notice is hereby given that Monaghan County Council, in accordance with Section 6 of the Casual Trading Act 1995 (as amended) and all other enabling statutory powers, including the provisions of the Local Government Act 2001 (as amended), propose to amend the Casual Trading Bye-Laws for the administrative area of Monaghan Town. All previous Bye-Laws made under and pursuant to Section 6 of the Casual Trading Act 1995 (as amended) are hereby revoked.

A copy of the draft Bye-laws may be  inspected at the Offices of Monaghan Municipal District, Monaghan County Council Offices, Glen Road, Monaghan between the hours of 9.15am – 1.00pm and 1.30pm – 5.15pm Monday to Friday (exclusive of Bank Holidays) for a period of one month from the date of publication of this notice and may be viewed on Monaghan County Council’s website at www.monaghan.ie

A copy of the draft Bye-laws will be given to any person applying for it.

A person may, within 2 weeks after the end of the period for inspection of the proposed Bye-Laws, make submissions in writing to Monaghan County Council in relation to proposed bye-laws and Monaghan County Council shall, before deciding whether to make the bye-laws, take into consideration any submissions duly made to it and not withdrawn.
