Draft Casual Trading Byelaws 2025

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND BYE-LAWS

CASUAL TRADING (CONTROL AND DESIGNATION) BYE-LAWS 2025

 Notice is hereby given that the Members of the Municipal District of Monaghan, Monaghan County, in exercise of the powers vested in them by the provisions of Section 6 of the Casual Trading Act 1995 (as amended) and the Local Government Act 2001 (as amended), propose to make new Casual Trading Bye-Laws for the administrative area of Monaghan Town – which will replace existing Bye-Laws.

In accordance with Section 6(6) and 6(7) of the Casual Trading Act 1995 (as amended), please be advised that a copy of the said proposed/draft new Casual Trading Bye-Laws may be  inspected at the Offices of Monaghan Municipal District, Monaghan County Council Offices, Glen Road, Monaghan between the hours of 9.15am – 1.00pm and 1.30pm – 5.15pm Monday to Friday (exclusive of Bank Holidays) for a period of one month from the date of publication of this notice and may also be viewed on Monaghan County Council’s website.

A copy of the proposed/draft new Casual Trading Bye-Laws will be given to any person applying for same.

A person may, within two weeks after the end of the period of inspection (referred to above), make submissions in writing to Monaghan County Council in relation to proposed/draft new Casual Trading Bye-Laws and Monaghan County Council shall, before deciding whether to make the to proposed/draft new Casual Trading Bye-Laws, take into consideration any submissions duly made to it and not withdrawn.
