European Parliament Elections 2019

Monaghan County Council has been requested by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government to contact all persons who are registered as “L” voters on the current Register of Electors (Voters list) to establish if any person is a European Union citizen*.

If you are a citizen of the European Union you have the right to vote at the European Parliament Elections scheduled to be held in 2019.    However, in order to vote at these elections, you must complete the forms listed below –

  • Form RFA – Register to Vote Now (include all family members living with you that are over 18 years of age)
  • Form EP1 – Registration as a European Elector (form must be signed by a member of An Garda Síochana or a Peace Commissioner – photographic ID may be required).

Both forms can be downloaded from www.checktheregister.ie or from https://monaghan.ie/register-of-electors/ and forwarded to Monaghan County Council, County Offices, The Glen, Monaghan.

It is very important that you return these signed forms before Friday 31st August, 2018.   If you fail to return these forms you will be unable to vote in the European Parliament elections in 2019 in this country.

Alternatively, if you are an Irish Citizen please complete a RFA5 form, which can be downloaded from https://monaghan.ie/register-of-electors/ and forwarded to Monaghan County Council along with a copy of your Irish Passport or Certificate of Naturalisation.
