Temporary Closing Of Roads

 

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay-Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:-  

This road will be closed for 2 days between Thursday 17th October 2019 – Thursday

21st November 2019

 

Times:  8am – 6pm

 

To Facilitate: Resurfacing and Flood Alleviation Works on the R162 (Ballybay/Monaghan Road) at Corfad.

 

Road Closed

R162 (Ballybay/Monaghan Road) between Corfad and Creevagh, Ballybay.

 

Diversion Routes:

 

Northbound – Via R184, L3311, L3310 then L3320 (Ballybay to Ardaghy), then L1501 and L1500 (Ardaghy to Monaghan).

 

Southbound – Via L1501 and L1500 (Ardaghy to Monaghan), then Via R184, L3311, L3310 then L3320 (Ballybay to Ardaghy).

 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Draft Waste Bye-Laws 2019

Pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996 as amended and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended, Monaghan County Council proposes to make a bye-law entitled ‘County of Monaghan (Segregation, Storage and Presentation of Household and Commercial Waste) Bye-Laws, 2019.

 

The purpose of making the bye-law is to ensure that households and businesses provide evidence of participation in an authorised waste collection service, use approved receptacles and storage, appropriately segregate waste and remove hazardous waste and ensure that an orderly waste collection is carried out in County Monaghan.

 

 

The penalties proposed for contravention of the bye-law is a fixed payment notice of €75 to be paid within 21 days and failing payment of the fixed penalty notice a maximum penalty on conviction of €2,500. Penalties for continued offences post-conviction are also provided for.

 

 

A copy of the proposed bye-law is available for inspection at the offices of Environmental Services, Monaghan County Council, Riverside Road, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan between the hours of 9am – 5.pm, Monday to Friday for an eight-week period from Thursday 10th  October  until the 5th December  2019 or at the link below. A copy of the draft bye-law may be obtained by any person on the payment to Monaghan County Council of such fee (if any) as the local authority fixes not exceeding the reasonable cost of copying it.

Public Alert:
Mains Flushing to Carrickmacross Public Water supply 

Irish Water and Monaghan County Council

 

Monaghan County Council on behalf of Irish Water wishes to advise that water mains flushing will take place from Monday 14th of October 2019 to Friday 29th November 2019, on the Carrickmacross Public Water Supply Scheme.

 

The following areas will be affected Ballybay road , Monaghan road , Crossmaglen road , Convent lands,  Dublin road, Carrickmacross town centre & Shercock road .

 

Mains flushing is undertaken to improve the quality of water supplied to our customers. Customers in areas where flushing will take place will notice a temporary discoloration to their water but this discolouration will clear when allowed to run for a few minutes.

Water users may also experience reduced pressure for the duration of these works.

We regret any inconvenience caused.

LT55101 in the townland of Beagh.

 

Alternative Routes: –

Traffic travelling from LS5510 to the LS5520 will be diverted by remaining on the LS5510, then turning left onto LP1500 in the townland of Carrickanoran and the turning left onto the LS5520 in the townland of Crosses.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
