Exempt Development – Section 5

What is exempted development?

Exempted development is development for which planning permission is not required. Categories of exempted development are set out in the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended. The purpose of exemption is to avoid restrictions on minor developments. An exemption may, however, be removed by a condition of a planning permission. All permissions pertaining to a site should be reviewed before proceeding with any minor works.
