On January 1st 2017, Monaghan County Council established a Vacant Sites Register in accordance with the Urban Regeneration and Housing Act 2015.

The purpose of the Register is to identify vacant sites within the functional area of Monaghan on appropriately zoned lands which have been deemed suitable for housing or redevelopment but are lying dormant and undeveloped.

Sites entered on the Register will be subject to the Vacant Site Levy provisions introduced under the Act.

At present there are no sites entered on the Vacant Sites Register.
