Storm Chandra – Flooding Update & Support Information

County Monaghan continues to experience significant flooding as a result of Storm Chandra. Council crews, the Fire Service and Civil Defence remain active across the county, responding to incidents, assisting residents and monitoring conditions as they develop.

Financial Support for Households and Businesses

Government schemes are available to assist those whose homes or businesses have been damaged by the flooding associated with Storm Chandra.

Support for Households:
If your home was damaged by flooding, the Emergency Response Payment is now available. This payment provides short time immediate financial support to people whose homes are damaged by flooding or other severe weather events and who are not able to meet costs for essential needs, household items and, in some instances, structural repair.

Support for Businesses:
Government support is available for small businesses (up to 20 employees) and community, voluntary and sports organisations affected by flooding.

The scheme is administered by the Irish Red Cross on behalf of Government.
