Monaghan County Council in collaboration with Monaghan Institute are bringing the Retrofitting rig roadshow to Monaghan from the 30th of September to 2nd October.
The fully equipped mobile Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) unit, an initiative of LOETB & Mount Lucas training facility provides advice and training to the public on energy upgrades and retrofitting. There will be a range of training workshops delivered from the mobile rig which will be located in the car park of Monaghan Institute over the course of the 3 days.
The roadshow will advise participants on the principles and practices needed to effectively retrofit homes to reduce energy demand and carbon emissions while improving comfort and saving money.
Chief Executive of Monaghan County Council Robert Burns outlined “Our Climate Action Plan aims to raise public awareness and engagement on Climate Action. The 3-day road show will provide an excellent opportunity for homeowners, construction workers, community groups and individuals to learn more about retrofitting and energy saving.”
The roadshow provides several opportunities for the public to drop in for a chat with subject matter experts who will explain about the different types of retrofitting options available. Representatives from the SEAI, Kore Retrofit and Monaghan Credit Union will also be present to offer advice on grants schemes and energy efficient measures and green loans.
All events are free of charge. Registration is not required for drop-in clinics but you must register to attend either the Circular Economy Workshop or Retrofit Workshop for Homeowners as places are limited. Registration for these workshops is via email to climateaction@monaghancoco.ie
We look forward to seeing you there!
