Monaghan County Council is delighted to unveil its exciting programme for Culture Night 2026, taking place on Friday, 18 September 2026, in venues across County Monaghan.
Culture Night is an annual all-island celebration of culture, creativity and the arts, inviting people of all ages to experience and enjoy the rich cultural life of their local communities. Monaghan is home to a vibrant and thriving cultural sector, and this year’s programme showcases the remarkable talent, creativity and heritage found throughout the county.
In collaboration with local artists, creative practitioners and cultural venues, Monaghan County Council has curated a diverse range of free events designed to inspire, entertain and engage audiences. From live music performances and visual arts exhibitions to crafts, film screenings, heritage experiences, storytelling sessions and much more, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Culture Night offers a unique opportunity to explore Monaghan’s cultural and creative offerings, discover new experiences and celebrate the artists and communities that make the county such a dynamic cultural destination.
Commenting on the programme, Robert Burns, Chief Executive, Monaghan County Council, said:

Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, Cllr Aidan Campbell, added:
“Culture Night is one of the highlights of the cultural calendar, offering people an opportunity to experience the best of what Monaghan has to offer. I encourage everyone to come along, support local artists and venues, and enjoy the wide range of free events taking place across the county. I would like to thank Monaghan County Council’s Cultural Team for leading out on this initiative”.
All events are free to attend, although advance booking may be required for some activities.
