This Saturday, 26 September, Monaghan County Libraries will join library services across the country in celebrating National Public Libraries Open Day 2026.
We invite everyone to take a closer look at their local library and discover everything free library membership has to offer. While books remain at the heart of the service, your library also provides learning opportunities, community activities, local history resources, cultural events and welcoming spaces for people of all ages.
Whether you’re a regular visitor, haven’t visited in some time, or have never joined before, National Public Libraries Open Day is the perfect opportunity to explore what’s available, meet the library staff and find out how your local library can support your interests, learning and everyday life. Come visit us in Monaghan Town Library, Castleblayney Library and Carrickmacross Library on Saturday, 26 September from 10am-1pm.
