Ballybay Community Based CCTV Scheme
Ballybay & Clones Municipal District are proposing that CCTV cameras are installed in locations in Ballybay Town. The aim of the project is to reduce anti-social behaviour and increase safety for all citizens. There will be strict rules in place to protect citizens privacy under Data Protection Legislation. A map of the proposed camera locations is currently on display in Ballybay & Clones Municipal District Offices, The Diamond, Clones, Co. Monaghan. Copies will also be available in the branch libraries in Ballybay & Clones and can be viewed on the Council’s website www.monaghan.ie.

Legislative Procedure for Traffic Calming Procedures under the Road Traffic Act 1994
Under the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) A road authority may, in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, provide such traffic calming measures as they consider desirable in respect of public roads in their charge.
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (As Amended) of the following scheme:
Pedestrian footway & road narrowing, R180 & R181, Lough Egish, Co Monaghan.
The proposed scheme will consist of:
- Extension of the pedestrian facilities from Lakeland Dairies on the R180, Ballybay to Carrickmacross Road, to the Lough Egish Food Park on the R181, Shercock Road.
- Narrowing of the R181 Junctions on the R180 for the provision of Traffic Calming
- Upgrade of existing drainage along the scheme.
- Road resurfacing and installation of new road markings.
- Erection of new signage and landscaping throughout the scheme.
- Relocation of all affected 3rd party utilities where required along the length of the scheme.
- All associated site works.
In accordance with Section 38 of the above-mentioned legislation, Monaghan County Council, as the competent roads authority has concluded that the above scheme complies with relevant section of the legislation, based on the nature, size and location of the proposed scheme.
Plans and particulars of the proposed scheme are available for inspection at the offices of the Road Section, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Armagh Road, Co. Monaghan and Ballybay & Clones Municipal District Office, The Diamond, Clones, Co. Monaghan during office hours from the Thursday 9th of September 2021.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, please contact the above mentioned offices to make an appointment to view the Plans and Particulars.
Submissions and observations in relation to the proposed works, may be made in writing to the Roads Section, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Armagh Road, Monaghan up to 5pm on Monday 11th of October 2021.

Temporary Closing of Road
Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:
Dates and Times: Saturday 18th September 2021 to Sunday 19th September 2021 (08.00hrs – 18.00hrs)
To Facilitate: Tree felling to improve sightlines at junction of LS8660 and R179-8 at Longfield Otra, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan.
Road Closed: R179-8 in the townland Longfield Otra of Co. Monaghan.
Diversion Route:
Traffic Wishing to Travel to Culloville from Carrickmacross via R179-10 Castle St will be directed via New St R178-6 taking 1st exit from the roundabout onto the N2-11, then to N2-2 North and continue towards Castleblaney for 10.5km, turn right onto L4300-0 Brackagh continue to N53 Maghernakill, turn right and continue towards Culloville.
Traffic Wishing to Travel to R179-6 Carrickmacross diverted towards Castleblaney N53 for 3km via Concession Rd, then turn left onto L4400-0 Maghernakill. Continue to N2 Brackagh, turn left towards Carrickmacross, continue for 10.5km then take R178 Dundalk exit from N2 at Carrickmacross, at roundabout take 3rd exit onto R178-6 New St towards Castle St.
All detours will be signposted to direct traffic.

NOTICE OF MAKING OF GENERAL DEVELOPMENT CONTRIBUTION SCHEME 2021-2026
Monaghan County Council has adopted a new General Development Contribution Scheme for the period 2021-2026 under the provisions of Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) on 6th September 2021, which comes into effect from that date.
The Development Contribution Scheme sets out development contribution charges proposed to be levied on planning permissions in respect of Traffic & Pedestrian Facilities and also Community, Recreation & Amenity Facilities.
A copy of the General Development Contribution Scheme is available for inspection at Planning Offices, 1 Dublin Street, Monaghan from 9.15am to 1pm and from 1.30pm to 5pm, Monday-Friday. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions prior contact should be made with the planning office in respect of viewing arrangements. The scheme is also available online at www.monaghan.ie
