The illegal dumping of waste is an offence under The Waste Management Act 1996 and can result in large fines or even imprisonment.
How do I make a report of illegal dumping?
You can contact the Environment Section of Monaghan County Council County Council in a confidential manner if requested in order to make a complaint in relation to illegal dumping. However, confidential complaints reduce the chances of effective actions being taken by the local authorities in circumstances where court proceedings are required. The exact location of the dumping will be required in order for our staff to carry out an investigation.
