Monaghan Green Business Hub

Monaghan County Council, in partnership with the Connacht-Ulster Regional Waste Management Office, has been selected to participate in a National Intervention Project. The project aims to foster a community-led approach to drive local action on circular economy and climate action, working in partnership with stakeholders.

The Green Hub initiative provides resources and support to local businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practices, including waste segregation and reduction strategies.  This is a very informal and friendly approach with absolutely no judgement.

Our aim is to organize a network of stakeholders, the MWMN (Monaghan Waste Management Network) who will commit to the initiative and work with us on promoting a cleaner, greener working environment for businesses in our County.

A suite of materials, developed by mywaste.ie, including bin signage, posters and training animations will be made available to businesses, free of charge. The campaign will also recognise businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

The aim of the Green Business Hub is to work with businesses and support staff.:

Aim:

      • To prevent and reduce waste generated in schools & businesses
      • Increase waste segregation
      • Increase recycling rates
