Monaghan County Council, in partnership with the Connacht-Ulster Regional Waste Management Office, is proud to announce the launch of the Monaghan Green Business Hub project.
Monaghan has been selected to participate in a National Intervention Project. The project aims to foster a community-led approach to drive local action on circular economy and climate action, working in partnership with Monaghan LEO and Monaghan Town Team and Chamber networks along with County Monaghan Tidy Towns network.
The Green Hub initiative will provide resources and support to local businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practices, including waste segregation and reduction strategies. Businesses are invited to book a one-to-one session with a waste advisor who will drop by individual business premises to help identify simple changes to improve waste segregation and recycling.
A very informal and friendly approach with absolutely no judgement.
A suite of materials, developed by mywaste.ie, including bin signage, posters and training animations will be made available to businesses, free of charge. The campaign will also recognise businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.
The aim of the Green Business Hub is to work with businesses and support staff and customers:

I am a business – how can I get involved?
For a business to become involved in the Green Business Hub, a commitment will need to be made on the following:
- To separate waste to General Waste, Recycling and Food Waste in all areas of the business, including waste
- Implement two actions to prevent/reduce waste
- Implement two actions to reduce littering in the community
