In Carrickmacross District Court, Wednesday 9th of September 2015, a Castleblayney woman with an address at Ard na Lorgan, was fined €100 and ordered to pay €378 costs in a prosecution by Monaghan County Council for creating litter in a public place. The original offence was an “on the spot” fine for dumping household refuse at Connabury, Castleblayney which the defendant failed to pay.

In Monaghan District Court, Monday 21st September 2015, Monaghan Council successfully prosecuted a Tyholland Landowner under Section 32 of the Waste Management Act 1996 (as amended)for disposing of waste in a manner that caused environmental pollution. A fine of €4,000, the maximum allowable under the legislation was imposed, plus expenses of €770.
