With the long evening upon us, hundreds of volunteers from right around County Monaghan from Killany to Carrickroe will be giving up their free time to get involved in this year’s Spring Clean. Now in its 20th year, Spring Clean is Ireland’s biggest and most successful anti- litter initiative.
Monaghan County Council provide a range of supports to communities who wish to participate from provision of free litter pickers and bags and bag collection to a skip service for the biggest clean ups.
If you would like to get involved here are some simple steps
- For litter pickers and bags please contact your local Municipal District Office
- For bag collection or skip please contact Environmental Services on 042 9661240 or litter@monaghancoco.ie
- All groups should register with www.nationalspringclean.org, once your event is registered you will be insured by National Spring Clean.
- National Spring Clean will also provide you with some resources like tabards and bags
- Monaghan County Council’s Road Safety Officer currently has some free high vis vests, Adrian can be contacted on roadsafetyofficer@monaghancoco.ie
