Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross/Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date & Time of Closure

Monday 9th December and Tuesday 10th December 2019 from 9:00am to 5:00pm

                                                

To Facilitate:Gas Networks Ireland

 

Road Closed:                    

LT-85201-0 St Joseph Terrace

Diversion Routes:

Traffic turning onto the LT-85201-0 St Joseph Terrace from the R178-6 Farney Street will be diverted left onto the LS-8520-0 Cross Street, then turn Left onto the R179-6 O’Neill Street

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Mains Flushing to Monaghan Town Public Water supply

Irish Water and Monaghan County Council

 

Monaghan County Council on behalf of Irish Water wishes to advise that water mains flushing will continue to take place until January 31st 2020, on the Monaghan town Public Water Supply Scheme.

 

The following areas will be affected Cootehill road, Poundhill, Manor Wood, Killyconigan, St Davnets, Clones-Scotshouse road, Hospital—Milltown road,  Monaghan Town Centre, Derry road, Coolshannagh road, Derry road, Dublin road  .

 

Mains flushing is undertaken to improve the quality of water supplied to our customers. Customers in areas where flushing will take place will notice a temporary discoloration to their water but this discolouration will clear when allowed to run for a few minutes.

Water users may also experience reduced pressure for the duration of these works.

We regret any inconvenience caused.

A5 Western Transport Corridor – Supplementary Information to the Environmental Statement Addendum

Supplementary information has been received in relation to the A5 Western Transport Corridor, Northern Ireland.

The Western Division of the Department of Infrastructure, Northern Ireland updated the Environmental Statement (ES 2016) with an Environmental Statement Addendum (ESA  2019) and accompanying Non-Technical Summary (NTS Rev’B). Both of these documents were published during the period 26 March 2019 to 17 May 2019. It has been brought to the attention of the Department that the base data used for the new traffic model referred to within the ESA 2019 had not been made available as part of the consultation process.

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Article 132 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, that the Department for Infrastructure is now making available the base data for the new traffic model referred to within the ESA 2019, and the NTS Rev’B on the effects of the proposed construction and operation of the A5 Western Transport Corridor dual carriageway scheme.

The project is to construct 85 kilometres of new trunk road from just south of Londonderry at New Buildings, passing through Strabane and close to Newtonstewart, Omagh, Ballygawley and Aughnacloy.

The base data used for the new traffic model may be inspected from the period from 21st November 2019 to 10th January 2020. The information is available for inspection at the offices of Monaghan County Council, Roads Office, MTEK II, Armagh Road, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan

The proposed development is subject to an environmental impact assessment and has potential transboundary effects.

 

A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development may be made in writing to the Planning Authority, Monaghan County Council by 5p.m. on 10th January 2020.
