#MYMONAGHAN Competition – What’s Your Monaghan?

A Monaghan sunset? The buzz at a festival? Or sheer match day magic?

Monaghan County Council, through the My Monaghan initiative wants to find out what makes Monaghan unique to you and why you just love calling our beautiful county, home. And it could just make you a winner! Here’s how:

  1. TAKE a picture or make a quick video of whatever it is that best sums up My Monaghan for you.
  2. SHARE it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #mymonaghan.
  3. STAND the chance to win! Monaghan County Council Tourism Unit will use the best entries to help promote the county AND three overall winners will be awarded cash prizes as follows:

First prize        €300

Second prize    €200

Third Prize      €100

The following Terms and Conditions apply:

  • By submitting an entry, entrants consent to Monaghan County Council Tourism Unit using or reproducing their photographs and videos for the purpose of promoting the county.
  • Competition is open to amateur photographers & videographers only
  • Winners will be selected by a judging panel and the judges’ decision will be final

Temporary Closing Of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice of its intention to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan County Monaghan:

 

Date & Time of Closure:  8am Monday 19th August to 5pm Friday 30th August 2019

                                               

To Facilitate:                        Bridge Remediation Works and all ancillary site works on the LT-16303-0, Newgrove.                  

 

Road Closed:                       LT-16303-0 in the townland of Newgrove, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan

 

Diversion Routes:

Traffic wishing to proceed onto the LT-16303-0 towards Monaghan Town, will be diverted by remaining on the LT-16201-0, then turning right onto the LP-1620-0, then continuing on the LP-1630-0  and then proceeding on the LP-1631-0 towards Monaghan town.

 Traffic wishing to proceed on the LT-16303-0 in the direction of Bellanode, will be diverted by remaining on the LP-1630-0, then continuing on the LP-1620-0, then turning left on to the LT-16201-0

 All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above mentioned roads with the Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday July 30th.  Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF A PROPOSED MATERIAL CONTRAVENTION OF THE MONAGHAN COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2019-2025

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 34(6) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Monaghan County Council intends to consider deciding to grant permission to construct a two-storey dwelling house off the Kingscourt Road at Mullanarry, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan.
The subject site is zoned for Existing Commercial uses and, as such, the development would contravene materially the Policy LZP 1 in the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025 (see Section 9.2).

Policy LZP 1 – To implement the land use zoning categories and objectives in each of the settlement plan areas as set out in Table 9.1.

Table 9.1 – Land Use Zoning Category Number 7; Existing Commercial. To provide for established commercial development and facilitate appropriate expansion. Principal permitted uses shall be related to the existing established commercial use on site. Redevelopment and expansion of existing commercial uses may be permitted on these lands.

Particulars of the development may be inspected or purchased at the offices of the Planning Authority – Monaghan County Council, Planning Section, County Offices, The Glen, Monaghan Town, H18 YT50 – during its public opening hours. Any submission or observation as regards the making of a decision to grant permission received (at the above mentioned address) on or before 17:00 on Wednesday the 21st of August 2019 will be duly considered by the Planning Authority.
