#MY MONAGHAN – Tourism Campaign

The final #MyMonaghan video is being released today. Each video in the series features local people, talking about their passions and telling their stories.

In the last video of the MyMonaghan series, Marese McCarra from Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre talks about the varied activities that the busy centre offers for riders of all abilities and levels, from leisurely hacks around the local countryside to the therapeutic and educational benefits of a ride around the centre’s purpose built sensory trail.

#MYMONAGHAN Competition – What’s Your Monaghan?

A Monaghan sunset? The buzz at a festival? Or sheer match day magic?

Monaghan County Council, through the My Monaghan initiative wants to find out what makes Monaghan unique to you and why you just love calling our beautiful county, home. And it could just make you a winner! Here’s how:

  1. TAKE a picture or make a quick video of whatever it is that best sums up My Monaghan for you.
  2. SHARE it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #mymonaghan.
  3. STAND the chance to win! Monaghan County Council Tourism Unit will use the best entries to help promote the county AND three overall winners will be awarded cash prizes as follows:

First prize        €300

Second prize    €200

Third Prize      €100

 

The following Terms and Conditions apply:

  • By submitting an entry, entrants consent to Monaghan County Council Tourism Unit using or reproducing their photographs and videos for the purpose of promoting the county.
  • Competition is open to amateur photographers & videographers only
  • Winners will be selected by a judging panel and the judges’ decision will be final
  • Winners will be announced via the Monaghan Tourism social media feeds on 29 August 2019.

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure                Monday Aug 19th to Tuesday Aug 20th 2019

Times:                                  9am – 5pm         

To Facilitate:                     New Connections to Gas Networks

Road Closed:

LS-8511-0 Chapel Lane

Alternative Routes.

Traffic turning onto the LT-8511-0 Chapel Lane from the R927-3 Main Street will be diverted onto the R927-3 Main Street, then turn Right onto the LT-85103-0 Rockdaniel Road, Turn Right onto the LS-8510-0.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure                Monday August 19 to Friday August 23

Times:                                   8am to 6pm

To Facilitate:                     Replacement of ESB Substation at entry to Glaslough Street Carpark

Road Closed:                     Entry lane to Glaslough Street Carpark LT14131. Single Lane closure on the LT14131 permitting entry only.

Diversion Routes:            Entry only into Glaslough Street Carpark from Glaslough Street. Exit from carpark via existing exit onto North Road.

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

LT51823 – Access from the N54 at McCleary’s Londis Shop to Belgium Park

 

Diversion Routes:

Diversion Route – Follow the N54 into Monaghan Town and turn right onto the LT55142 (Plantation Road)

Local access will be catered for.

Public Alert:

Mains Flushing to Togan Public water supply Scheme

Irish Water and Monaghan County Council

 

Monaghan County Council on behalf of Irish Water wishes to advise that water mains flushing will take place from Monday 12th of August 2019 to Friday 16th August 2019, on the Togan public Water Supply Scheme.

The following areas will be affected Crumlin, Togan, Kiltubbrid, Drumaclan, Kilnclay, Drumgull, Cabragh & Threemilehouse village.

Mains flushing is undertaken to improve the quality of water supplied to our customers. Customers in areas where flushing will take place will notice a temporary discoloration to their water but this discolouration will clear when allowed to run for a few minutes.

Water users may also experience reduced pressure for the duration of these works.

We regret any inconvenience caused.
