Monaghan Social Inclusion Week – Monday 24th September

Monaghan Together Unique & United

Monaghan Social Inclusion Week has come around and this year brings even more events and activities for everyone in the community. Co-ordinated by Monaghan Local Community Development Committee’s Equality sub group this annual weeklong programme aims to celebrate equality, inclusion and diversity in our county.  2018 promises to be another week of celebration and activity. A wide range of events, activities and celebrations will take place throughout the week that raise awareness of the many different supports that are available to people who may feel socially excluded and to raise awareness throughout the county of the barriers some people in our society experience on a daily basis.

This year’s social inclusion week sees the introduction of Monaghan LCDC Equality sub groups promotional logo. Monaghan together – Unique & United

The equality sub group selected a logo that all members of the community could identify with and would reflect all the individuals and communities of the county. The finger print visible on the logo reflects the uniqueness of the population, while the colours throughout the map of the county reflect the tapestry of culture that is Monaghan.

The logo is hoped to represent a collective approach to the promotion of equality and social inclusion in the county.

Social inclusion week asks everyone to celebrate our diversity and our uniqueness because we are all different and we are all part of the community of Monaghan

Check out this year’s calendar of events and be sure to come along to some of the great activities that are taking place.  Social Inclusion Week Calendar is also available on https://www.facebook.com/Monaghancoco/
