Variation No.1 to the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025

NOTICE OF VARIATION THE MONAGHAN COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2019 -2025 – VARIATION NO.1

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that on 6th January 2020, Monaghan County Council made a variation (Variation No.1) to the Monaghan County Development Plan 2019-2025. The proposed variation will provide for the inclusion within the development plan of Policy NRP 7 which states:-

To protect the selected route of the N2 upgrade road scheme between Ardee and Castleblayney and the selected route between Clontibret and the border with Northern Ireland, and to prohibit development that could prejudice their future delivery.”

The reason for the proposed variation is to ensure that development will not prejudice the improvements proposed to the N2 National Road.

A copy of the development plan as varied is available for inspection at the planning offices of Monaghan County Council during opening hours from 9.15am – 5pm (lunch time closing 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.)

Submissions Received

A total of eight submissions were received in response to notification of the proposed variation. The submissions received are available to view by clicking on the documents below. The chief executive will prepare a report on any submissions or observations received listing the persons or bodies who made submissions or observations, summarise the recommendations, submissions and observations made, and give the response of the chief executive to the issues raised, taking account of the proper planning and development of the area, statutory obligations and relevant policies and objectives of the Government. The report shall be submitted to the elected members for their consideration at the Council Meeting on 6th January 2020. Once the report has been issued to the elected members it will be displayed online. The elected members shall consider the proposed variation and the report of the chief executive, and may as they consider appropriate, by resolution make the variation, with or without minor modifications, or they may refuse to make it.

A copy of the proposed variation is also available for inspection until 5pm on 29th November 2019 at the offices of Monaghan County Council, County Offices, The Glen, Monaghan during opening hours from 9.15am – 5pm (lunch time closing 1:00 – 1:30 p.m.).

 

Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed variation made to the Planning Authority before 5pm on 29th November 2019 will be taken into consideration before the making of the variation.
